why x=>y is not answer

Question:
DIRECTION: In the givenquestion two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and find if:

I. \(\cfrac{12×4}{x^{\frac{4}{7}}}-\cfrac{3×4}{x^{\frac{4}{7}}}= x^{\frac{10}{7}}\)

II. y3 + 783 = 999

Options:
A) x>y
B) x≥y
C) x<y
D) x≤y
E) x = y or the relationship cannot be established
Solution:
Ans: (d) \(\cfrac{48}{x^{\frac{4}{7}}}-\cf \cfrac{12}{x^{\frac{4}{7}}}=x^{\frac{10}{7}}\)

\(\Rightarrow \cfrac{48-12}{x^{\frac{4}{7}}}=x^{\frac{10}{7}}\)

\(⇒ 36 =x^{\frac{10}{7}+\frac{4}{7}}\)

\(⇒ 36 = x^2\)

\(⇒ x = \sqrt[]{36} = ±6\)

\(II. y^3 = 999 – 783 = 216\)

\(∴ y = \sqrt[3]{216} = 6\)

From statement I, x=+6 and -6

From statement II, y=6

Now compare x and y,

6=6 means x=y

-6<6 means x<y

Hence, x< or = y.
