In question it is said that australian lives next to european so answer should be either first or fifth

DIRECTIONS: Answer the following questions which are based on the information given here.


In a building with 6 floors, the Indian lives two floors above the American. The Australian lives on the floor immediate next to the European. The African does not live on the topmost floor. The Chinese lives in the same building.

If the Australian lives on the 2nd floor, and the African on the 3rd floor which floor does the Chinese lives on?

Options:
A) First 
B) Fifth
C) Fourth
D) Sixth
E) None of these
Solution:

Ans: (b) If the Australian lives on the 2nd floor, then the African on the 3rd floor. Thus, American lives on 4th floor and Indian lives on 6th floor and European lives next to Australian thus, he lives on 1st floor and Chinese lives on 5th floor.
