can't understand in last

Question:

DIRECTIONS: The bar graph gives the details of the production, exports and per capita consumption of rice in a state across five years.

Domestic consumption = Production – Exports

Per capita consumption = (Domestic consumption)/Population

What is the highest percentage increase in the domestic consumption in any year, when compared to the previous year?
Options:
A) 25%
B) 23%
C) 21%
D) 19.5%
E) None of these
Solution:

Ans: (a)

The domestic consumption in the different years was

2012 = 360 – 72 = 288

2013 = 450 – 90 = 360

2014 = 510 – 120 = 390

2015 = 570 – 150 = 420

2016 = 640 – 170 = 470

The highest percentage increase was in 2013 and it is \(\cfrac{360 - 288}{288 }\) × 100% = 25%
