question statement is not correct as rate is not mention

Question:

Ramesh borrowed a total of Rs.26,000 from NandP in the beginning of 2012 under simple interest and he paid Rs.3000 as interest after one year. How much did he borrow from NandP respectively?

Options:
A)

Rs. 18000 and Rs. 8000

B)

Rs. 19000 and Rs. 7000

C)

Rs. 8000 and Rs. 18000

D)

Rs. 7000 and Rs. 19000

E)

None of these

Solution:

Ans: (a)Let us assume ‘a’ is the amount borrowed from ‘N’.

(26,000 – a) is the amount borrowed from ‘P’.

The total interest is

⇒a ×  10100   + (26000 – a)  15100    = 3000

⇒a = 18000

So that,

The money lent by N = 18000

The money lent by P = 26000 – 18000 = 8000
