Cost of alloy = Cost of materials used in alloy + Labour & tooling cost

What is the cost of 45 kg of alloy F3?
Options:
A) 4290
B) 5129
C) 4578
D) 4876
E) 5193
Solution:

Cost of materials used for 1 kg of alloy F3 = 0.56 × 50 + 0.18 × 30 + 0.14 × 180 + 0.12 × 240 = Rs.87.40

Labour & tooling cost for 1 kg of alloy F3 = Rs.28

∴ Cost of alloy F3 = 87.40 + 28 = Rs.115.40/kg

⇒ Cost of 45 kg of alloy F3 = 115.40 × 45 = Rs.5193
