What are the correct conclusions????

Question:
DIRECTIONS: In each question below is given few statements followed by few conclusions. You have to assume everything in the statements to be true, then consider the conclusions together and decide which of them logically follows beyond a reasonable doubt from the information given in the statement.

Statements:

All puzzles are relations.

All relations are directions.

Some directions are not images.

Some images are ways.

Conclusions:

I. No image is a puzzle.

II. Some ways are directions.

III. Some relations are ways.

IV. Some puzzles are images.

Options:
A) Only I and III follow
B) Either I or IV follows
C) None follows
D) Only II and III follow
E) All follow
Solution:
Ans:(b) The basic diagram for the given statements is

From the above basic diagram

Conclusion I, negative, follows,

As the negative conclusion follows, let us try to negate it by drawing an alternative diagram.

The negation of I is ‘Some images are puzzles’.

As conclusion I is negated, it does not follow.

Conclusion II, affirmative does not follow.

Conclusion III, affirmative does not follow.

Conclusion IV, affirmative does not follow.

But I and IV are contradictory to each other.

∴ Either I or IV follows.
