production of B in 2004 is 62? or 64?

Question:
DIRECTION: Following bar-graph shows the production of two companies A and B (in thousand) during the period 2004 to 2010 and the line graph shows the percentage sale of these companies.

What is the difference between the total items sold by Company A in the year 2006 and 2007 together and the total items sold by Company B in the year 2004 and 2005 together?

Options:
A) 18,100
B) 18,200
C) 19,300
D) 18,400
E) 18,500
Solution:
Ans: (c)  A(2006 + 2007) = \(\left \{ 48\times\left ( \cfrac {80}{100} \right ) +60\times\left ( \cfrac {75}{100} \right )\right \}\) = 38.4 + 45 = 83.4 thousands

B2004 + 2005 = \(\left \{ 62\times\left ( \cfrac {55}{100} \right ) +60\times\left ( \cfrac {50}{100} \right )\right \}\) = 34.1 + 30 = 64.1 thousands

Difference = 83.4 – 64.1 = 19.3 thousands = 19,300.
