Can't we place T in 2nd place instead of P

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Few persons are sits in 3 different rows facing the north. The rows were numbered 1-3 such that the last row’s number is 3, the row exactly in front of it is number 2 and so on. The seat numbers are 1, 2, 3 and so on in ascending order from left to right. All rows did not necessarily have the same number of seats. The information about only few persons is known.


• No one sits right of Q.

• V sits immediate above of R. 

• Number of seats between S and T is as same as number of seats between R and Q.   

• Four seats are between P and T. 

• U does not sit with R and T. 

• Only two seats are right and left of V.

  • T is to the right of P

• The maximum number of seats are eight in any row.

• No one sits left of U.  

• T does not sit with R and V. 

• Seat number of U, P and R are different. 

• Number of seats in row 2 is one more than number of seats in row -1.

How many persons can sit in this arrangement?

Ans: (d)

Only two seats are right and left of V. V sits immediate above of R.

  

If,T does not sit with R and V.

Therefore,

In case (i) T sits in L3. In case (ii) T sits in L1.   

No One seat is immediate left of U.  U does not sit with R and T thus U definitely sits with V.

  

Number of seats in row 2 is one more than number of seats in row -1. 

So for case (i)

L2 have six seats and definitely L3 have 8 seats. 

For case (ii)

L1 have six seats and L3 have 8 seats. 

If, Seat number of U, R and P are different and the maximum number of seats can be eight in any row.Four seats are between P and T. this condition applicable only in case (i) and P sits in second position from left in Row3.

  

Number of seats between S and T is as same as R and Q.  No one sits immediate right of Q. thus Q sits in Row 2. 

Number of seats between S and T is 2.
