DIRECTIONS: The table given below has some data missing. Study the table carefully to answer the following questions. According to the question, if there is any need for the data that is missing calculate the same and proceed with the questions.

In university E, ratio of male to the female students who enrolled is 9: 8 and the ratio of male to female who completed the course is 8 : 6, then find the number of students who got the job?
Options:
A) 153

Solution:

Ans(a):

Let the number of male who enrolled be 9x and female who enrolled be 8x

Since the ratio of male to female who completed the course is 8 : 6

∴ \(\cfrac{(9x-30)}{(8x-60) }\) = \(\cfrac{8}{6}\)

∴ X = 30

∴ Number of male who enrolled = 9X = 9 × 30 = 270

and number of female who enrolled = 8X = 8 × 30 = 240

∴ Total number of students enrolled (M + F) in university E = 270 + 240 = 510

Since 30% who enrolled got the job

∴ Number of students who got the job = 30% of 510 = 153

Dear student, Please read question carefully..it is clearly given that 50% (i.e. 192 students) who completed the course got the job. Let's see, Since 50 % of who completed course got the job i.e. 192. So number of student who completed the course= 384 and it is also given in question that number of males and number of females who completed the course are equal. Therefore number of male student who completed the course=number of male student who completed the course=192 Hence number of male student who enrolled in University C=Number of males who completed the course+ Number of males who dropped=192+52=244 Thank You Team Toprankers...!!!
