DIRECTIONS: In the following questions, three statements followed by four conclusions marked I, II, III and IV are given. Consider the statements to be true, even though they seem to be at variance with the commonly known facts and find out which of the given conclusion(s) logically follow(s) the statements, disregarding the commonly known facts.


Statements:

Some Patna are Ranchi.

No Ranchi is Bengal.

All Bengal are Bhopal.

Conclusions:

I. No Patna is Bengal

II. Some Ranchi are Bengal.

III. Some Bhopal are not Ranchi.

IV. All Bhopal are Ranchi.

Options:
A) Only I follows.
B) Only II follows.
C) Only III follows.
D) Either III or IV follows.
E) All follows.
Solution:

Ans (c) The given statements can be represented in the basic diagram as follows:
