didn;t understand question 4 (Question:102928.0)

i didn't understand.how is it possible.can you provide a detailed solution

Question:

DIRECTIONS : These questions are based on the following information.


Ten children A through J, among whom only A, B, C, D are girls, are to be divided into three group P, Q and R such that each group has a girl and a total of at least three children. We know the following additional information.


(i) If one of E, F and G is selected in group R then the other two must be in that group.

(ii) If F is in the same group as C, then D must be in that group. Neither C nor D can be with I.

(iii) No two of G, H and I can be in the same group

(iv) Unless J is selected in group P, A cannot be selected in group R.

(v) If and only if H is a member of group P then it has four children.

(vi) The number of children in group Q cannot be more than that in group R.

(vii) A and H must be in the same group.     

If F is selected in Q, then who must be selected in R?

Options:
A) C 
B) I
C) A
D) H
E) Can’t be determined
Solution:

From (i), if one of G is selected in R, then we have the following possibility.

A, C, H

E, F, G, D


If H is selected in R, then B must have four children. S.t none of E, F, G, I, J can be in R.


Also must be with B (∵ From (ii)


∴ A, C, D, H must be in R, in which case one of P and Q don’t have any girls.

∴ Not possible.


If I is selected in R, then B must be in that team.


If H is selected in group P. than we have the following possibilities.

If H is selected in group Q, then R must have four children. But none of C, D, E, F, H, A, G can be in R.
