Why c statement can't be used in this problem

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Study the following information carefully and answer the questions which follow.

In a certain code language, some statements are coded as follows:

(i) ‘Major threat to stability’ is coded as ‘H74 D58 Y43 M16’.

(ii) ‘Develop global safety measures’ is coded as ‘L89 W21 P62 U37’.

(iii) ‘Global economic scenario’ is coded as ‘P62 J95 S12’.

(iv) ‘Major markets overseas’ is coded as ‘Z67 Y43 N34’.

If ‘stability’ is coded as ‘H74’, then which of the following can be used for getting the code of ‘threat’?

Options:
A)

Z67 S12 U37 Y43

B)

N34 W21 M16 U37

C)

L89 D58 J95 M16

D)

Y43 H74 P62 Z67

E)

None of these

Solution:

Ans: (b) By comparing (i) and (iv), the code for ‘major’ is ‘Y43’ and similarly by comparing (ii) and (iii), the code for ‘global’ is ‘P62’.

Since we know that the code for ‘major’ is ‘Y43’ and ‘stability’ is ‘H74’, then from (i) the code for ‘threat’ can be either ‘D58’ or ‘M16’. Thus, by using option (b), we can find the code for ‘threat’.

Dear student,
Given marked answer is correct. the code for 'threat' is either 'D58' or 'M16' in option (b) M16 is given. but in option (c) both 'D58' and 'M16" are given. Thus we can't find the code 'threat' in option (c). so the the answer is B.
