Wrong answer
Right answer is X>_Y

Question:
DIRECTIONS: In the following questions two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and indicate the correct answer.

I.   x4 – 227 = 398

II.  y2 + 321 = 346
Options:
A) if x > y
B) if x ≥ y
C) if x < y
D)

if x ≤ y

E) if x = y or the relationship cannot be established
Solution:

I. x4 = 227 + 398 = 625 = 54

⇒ x = 5

II. y2 = 346 - 321 = 25 = 52

⇒ y = 5

Clearly, x = y
