Answer is 77.1

Question:

The perimeter of a square is equal to the perimeter of a rectangle of length 32 cm and breadth 28 cm. Find the circumference of a semicircle whose diameter is equal to the side of the square.

Options:
A)

32.75 cm

B)

84.49 cm

C)

77.14 cm

D)

84.92 cm

E)

72.41 cm

Solution:

Ans:(c) Let the side of the square be a cm

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 (32 + 28) = 120 cm

Perimeter of the square = 120 cm

4a = 120

a = 30

Circumference of the semicircle = \(\pi\)r + 2r

= \(\cfrac{22}{7}\) × 15 + 30

= 47.14 + 30 = 77.14 cm
