how can you place 3 people between B and H in case 2 ?? considering case 1 E should be the answer to this quation.

Question:

DIRECTIONS: These questions are based on the following information.

Eight persons A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are sitting in a row facing North. Only two persons are sitting to the left of D. A is adjacent to G and F. E is at one of the ends and three persons are sitting between him and G.

If there are three persons between B and H, then who is sitting to the left of D?

Options:
A) B
B) H
C) C
D) Cannot be determined
E) None of these
Solution:

Ans: (c) Three persons sifting between B and H is possible only in case (i) and then C will be sitting to the left of D.

Given that only two persons are sitting to the left of D, we know that D is the person from the left. Now E is at one of the ends. Thus, we have two possibilities:

Case (i): E is at the extreme left

E __ D __ GAF __

Case (ii): E is at extreme right

__ __ DGAF __ E
