The diagonal of a rectangle is 17 cm long and its perimeter is 46 cm. Find the area of the rectangle.
Options:
A) 122 cm2
B) 125 cm2           
C) 120 cm2 
D) 130 cm2
E) None of these 
Solution:

2(l + b) = 46

⇒(l + b)2 = (23)2

⇒ (l2 + b2) +2lb = 529      

Since Diagonal of rectangle= \(\sqrt[]{l^2+b^2}\)

⇒ 172 + 2lb = 529 

⇒ lb = 120

Area = l × b = 120 cm2
