how can 24.375 be equated to 24.5???
for me the answer in this case should be none of these

Question:

A alone can do a piece of work in 40 days and if he works along with B, he can do the same work in 25 days less. A starts the work alone and works for 8 days. Then, A stops and B works for 5 days. Then again A alone works for 4 days after which both of them work together till the work is completed. How many days did it take from the beginning to complete the work?

Options:
A) 29  days.
B) \(24\cfrac{1}{2}\) days.
C) 18 days.
D) 21 days.
E) None of the above.
