Eleven boxes M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W kept one above the other. The lowermost rack is numbered as 1 and above is 2 and so on . Box T kept at third position from the top. Two boxes kept between Box M and S.  Four boxes kept between P and W which kept at one of the position above O.  There are as many boxes above box R as below box S . Box V kept either first or last position. Five boxes kept between R and U.  Box Q kept at any odd numbered position below of box R but above number 5. Two boxes kept between V and U. There as many boxes above box Q as below box M. Box N kept at any even numbered position.P is kept above T.

Four of the following five are alike in a certain way and so form a group. Which one of the following does not belong to the group?

Options:
A)

R – S

B)

Q – M

C)

N – W

D)

P – V

E)

T – O

Solution:

Ans: (c)

Box T is kept at third position from the top. Box V kept either first or last position. Two boxes kept between V and U. Five boxes are kept between R and U.

Box Q kept at any odd position below of box R. There are as many boxes above box Q as below box M. this condition not applicable in case (i) so we consider case (ii) for further solution.

There are (ii) different conditions for Box Q’s  and M’s position.

Two boxes are kept between M and S. this condition applicable only in case (i).

There are as many boxes above box R as below box S.

Four boxes are kept between P and W which is kept at one of the position above O. Box N kept at any even numbered  position. Thus Box N kept between T and Q. and Box O kept between U and S. Thus,  final arrangement as follows.
