in the equation of y, the value of roots can be +/- 18 and +/- 9 similar to that of x. hence relation CND.

Question:

DIRECTION : In the given question two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and Give answer if

I. x2 – 365 = 364

II. y - \(\sqrt{324}\)  =  \(\sqrt{81}\)

Options:
A) x > y
B) x ≥ y
C) x < y
D) x ≤ y
E) x = y or the relationship cannot be established
Solution:

I. x2 – 365 = 364

x2 = 364 + 365

x =  \(\sqrt{729}\) = ± 27

II. y - \(\sqrt{324}\)  = \(\sqrt{81}\)

y - 18 = 9

y = 9 + 18 = 27

∴ y ≥ x
