ans should be 18 painter required. please check this

If 12 painters painted 120 paintings in 30 days, then how many painters will be required to paint 240 painting in 40 days?

Here painting is work done. Hence this will not be multiplied by 30 or 40 rather it will be 120/30 : 240/40 = 12/x. Hence the solution is wrong. It will be 18 painters.
