9 men finish one-third work in 10 days. The number of additional men required for finishing the remaining work in 2 more days will be 
Options:
A) 78
B) 81
C) 55
D) 30

Solution:
Ans: (b)
9 men finish remaining work in 20 days.(i.e. 2/3 of work)
therefore to comlete the remaining work in 2 days,number of men required=180/2=90 men
Hence additional numbar of men required=90-9=81

see, 9 men can do the 1/3rd of work in 10 days, rest remaining 2/3rd of word. so equation forms like this if 9 men-1/3rd work- 10 days then 9 men-2/3rd work-?. so 20 is the ans for 9 men-2/3rd work. next total work units remaining is No. of men*No. days i.e, 20*9=180 units. Now to finish the remaining 180 units work in 2 days the no. of men required is 180/2=90 men. But we already had 9 men so the ans is 90-9=81 more men required.
