All india PO test Q 41 (Question:229021.0)

in question P and R started work but in solution P and Q shows

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Study the following graph carefully to answer the given questions


P and R started the work jointly. A few days later U also joined them and thus all of them completed the whole work in 10 days. All of them were paid total Rs.600. What is the Share of U?

Rs.360

B)

Rs.385

Rs.240

Solution:

Ans: (c) 

10 days work of P=

\(\cfrac{10}{25}=\cfrac{2}{5}\)

10 days work by R=

\(\cfrac{10}{50}=\cfrac{1}{5}\)

Total work by P and R in 10 days=\(\cfrac{3}{5}=60 \%\) 

Therefore work done by U in 10 days =40 %

Hence share of U= 40% of 600= Rs 240
