DIRECTIONS: Study the following graphs to answer these questions.

The pie chart shows sources of income for an NGO. The total income is Rs.40 crore. The bar chart gives the expenditure incurred on various items A-Food for poor, B-Education of illiterate, C-Mid-day meal programme, D-General expenses, E-Eye-camp expenses, F-integrated street children programme. Total expenditure =  Rs.39 crore.

  

  

If the individuals stop donation and the expenditure pattern remains the same, then what will be the decrease in money spent for Mid-day meal programme?

Options:
A)

1.55 crore

B)

1.95 crore

C)

0.50 crore

D)

0.75 crore

Solution:

Ans: (d)

Percentage of money in Mid-day meal  =539×100=12.82%   

∴    Money spent for mid-day meal, when expenditure is Rs.33 crore.

=12.82100×33=Rs.4.23     crore

∴     Required decrease = Rs.5 crore –  Rs.4.23 crore 

= Rs.0.75 crore.
