A student gets 60% of the maximum marks. If he gets 50% more than the pass mark, then the pass mark is-what percentage of the maximum marks?

Ans: (c)

Let the maximum marks be 100.

Then the marks scored by the student are 60.

∴    The pass mark  =60150100=40   

∴    Pass mark is 40% of the maximum marks.
