you have written HG=AB-2
where have you mentioned GB=2?
and if we find the height of the triangle, it comes out as 3.
So, HG=height of the isosceles triangle = 3
therefore, area of HOG=1/2(4x3)
so total area = 84-2x(6) = 72 units.

Question:
In the given frame work, it being given that OG = OF, then area of the frame work is :


Options:
A) 64m2
B) 62 m2
C) 60 m2
D) 58 m2
Solution:
Ans: (a) Area of frame work ABCDEFOGHA 


= area of rectangle ABCD - 2 (area of \(\triangle\) HOG)

HO = AO - AH

= 6 - 4 = 2 m

HG = AB - 2

= 7 - 2 = 5m

Area of frame-work 

\(=12\times7-2\left ( \cfrac{1}{2}\times 5\times4\right )\)

\(=84-320=64m^2\)
