correct answer in my best knowledge is 'stood'
If we consider 'struggle' then it gives a sense that nature has always been an evil. as we struggle against negative prospects only. Nature regardless of being good or bad but the man has 'stood' against it gives an appropriate essence to the paragraph. Please give feasible inputs.
