Question:

A, B, C are employed to do a piece of work for ₹5,290. Let A and B together do \(\cfrac{19}{23}\) of the work and B and C together do \(\cfrac{8}{23}\) of the work. A should be paid:

Options:
A) ₹2,290
B) ₹4,250
C) ₹3,450
D) ₹1,950
Solution:
Ans: (c)

Let the total unit of work be 23.

A & B can do 19 units thus, C alone can do 4 units of work.

B & C can do 8 units of work thus, B alone can do 4 units of work.

\(\therefore\)A alone can do 15 units.

Thus, share of A = \(\cfrac{15}{23}\times5290=\unicode{x20B9} 3450\)
