Isn't angle traced by minutes hand 6 degrees in one minute?
360/60=6, since it completes 360 degree rotation in 60 minutes
Angle traced by hours hand is 0.5 degrees,
360/720=0.5, since it completes 360 degree rotation in 12 hours=720 minutes

What is the angle traced by hour hand between 3:45 am to 4:15 am?

Options:

A) 30^o

B) 15^o

C) 18^o

D) 36^o

Solution:

Ans: (b) ∴ Angle traced by minutes hand in 1 minute = \(\left ( \cfrac {1}{2} \right )^o\).

3:45 a.m. to 4:15 a.m. = 30 minutes

∴ Angle traced by hour hand in 30 minutes = 30 × \(\cfrac{1}{2}^o\)= 15^o.
