he walked 5km towards west then turn 270 clockwise means now he is facing toward south then he walked 7 towards this direction and then took left and walked 5km means he will walk 5km east so from starting pt. he will be 7 km south

Question:
A man is  moving to west and covered 5 meters, he then turned 270o in clockwise direction and moved 7 meters, now he took left turn and moved 5 meters. At what distance and in which direction is he now from his starting point?
Options:
A) 13 meters, North-East
B) 13 meters, South-East
C) \(\sqrt[]{93}\) meters, South-East
D) 15 meters South-West
E) 17 meters, North-East
Solution:
Ans: (b)

In ∆OCD,

\(\left [\begin{matrix} OB=5m\\OC=OB+BC\\OC=5+7\\OC=12m\end{matrix}\right]\)

OD2 = OC2 + CD2

OD2 = 122 + 52

OD =  \(\sqrt{169}\)

OD = 13 m

13 m, South – East.
