PSU Recruitment Through CLAT 2024 LLM Score

Public Sector Undertakings or PSUs are owned by the government, and more stakes are regulated by the heavy industries and enterprises.

Eligibility Criteria for PSUs through CLAT

If you wish to apply for PSU Recruitment, you must fulfil the required criteria listed below.

  • There’s no upper age limit for applying to PSU.
  • You need to have scored a minimum of 55% (SC/ST/ 50%) when applying for PG (LLM)
  • For specific PSUs, it is required to have a score of 60% marks or above. 

Apart from PSUs, you can also apply for the various state-level Judiciary Exams if you have secured 55% in your graduation. This also can be an alternative career choice.

List of PSUs using CLAT Score

Every year, some of the reputed PSUs hire Law Officers, Legal Advisors, Legal Executive trainees, and Trainee Legal Advisors based on CLAT Entrance Exam scores.

PSUs hold a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the CLAT Committee to hire through the common law admission test. Each PSU will open a separate application form for PSU Recruitment through CLAT.

Types of PSU Recruitment through CLAT

There are nearly 277 Central Public Sector Undertakings in India. 

PSU in India can be classified into three categories: 

  • Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs)
  • Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs), and
  • Public Sector Banks (PSBs)

CPSEs are given different statuses, as explained below:

1 - Maharatna

Companies that have been given the Maharatna status have an annual turnover of Rs 20,000 crore on average in the last three years. The average annual net worth or the combined value of the assets must be Rs 10,000 crore.

2 - Navratna

The CPSEs with a Schedule ‘A’ and a Miniratna Category 1 status are eligible to be considered for the Navratna status. The status gives the power to the PSU to invest up to Rs 1,000 crore without the government's approval.

3 - Miniratna

 The CPSEs that have continuously made profits in the last three years and have positive net worth are eligible to be considered for grant of Miniratna status.

Selection Process of PSU Recruitment through CLAT

Based on the marks scored in the CLAT Exam, PSUs will call you for group discussion and personal interview rounds conducted by different PSUs.

The selection process for PSU via CLAT will include three stages:

  • Shortlisting of Students
  • Release of the invite list
  • Interview

Shortlisting of Students

In the first phase of the selection process, PSU will shortlist the students based on their merit list in the CLAT 2024 Exam.

Release of the invite list

Students whose names are present in the list will be sent call letters for the interview process.

At the time of the interview, you have to produce the interview call letter and other important documents like CLAT Scorecard, academic certificates, etc.


PSUs will interview either online or offline mode. You will be notified about the mode of conduct at least one week before the interview.

BHEL Recruitment through CLAT 2023

BHEL invites applications from willing and qualified Law Officers (Indian National only) to join its various Units/ Offices at Bangalore, Bhopal, Haridwar, Ranipet, Jhansi, Delhi/NCR.

  • Pay Scale - Rs. 60000 - Rs. 180000 with an increment of 3% 
  • Allowance of 35% of basic pay
  •  It has age limit of 30 years for genertal category. 

Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Ltd

  • Post: Executive Trainee (Law)
  • Last date for payment: 14th June 2022 (5:30 hrs) 
  • Minimum Basic Pay - Rs. 50000/- 
  • Pay scale - Rs. 50000 - (3% increment) - 3% - Rs 160000 (IDA) during E2 grade

IOCL Recruitment through CLAT 2023

Indian Oil Corporation Limited is a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking, an explorer of national upstream Oil and Gas Company.

The Oil India Limit will release an official OIL Notification for inviting individuals for the position of Legal/ Land Officers.

PGCIL Recruitment via CLAT 2023

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited recruits as per the PGCIL Notification for Executive Trainee (Law) via the CLAT exam 2023.

The pay scale could vary between Rs.24900-50500. The tentative CTC till the continuation training will be Rs. 8.15 lakhs, while on regularization post-training, it will be increased to Rs.14.44 lakhs.

  • Post: Assistant officer Trainee
  • Stipend in the form of basic pay of Rs. 40000 along with IDA, HRA and Perks
  • 12% of Basic Pay during training period
  • Rs. 40000-3% - Rs. 140000/-(ida) during training period
  • Absorbed in E2 Scale

Career apart from PSUs

You don't need to get a job at PSU after completion of the LLM program. Instead, you can also choose Law as a Career after Graduation.

After completion of your LLM program, you can apply for civil judge posts through the Judiciary Exams. 

To become a successful lawyer, you must obtain an undergraduate degree with a GPA above 3.0.

As a lawyer, you will be entitled to get an annual median salary of Rs.1,56,000 and an hourly mean wage of Rs.4147 per hour. However, this figure can vary widely depending on the practice's experience, specialty, and geographic location.

How are PSU Salaries? 

  • They have different pay structures based on the post you work in. 
  • PSUs offer a good salary package from INR 7 lakhs to INR 20 Lakhs per annum. 
  • Apart from the basic salary, you are entitled to Allowances, transportation facility,  life & health insurance, Reimbursement for medical treatment, phone bills, etc., 
  • Variable Pay: Performance Related Pay based on performance is also offered.
