CUET Exam Analysis 2023 for English: May 21 (Day 1; Both Shifts)

Shift 1:

  • English paper for CUET (UG) 2023, day 1 & shift 1, was comparatively easier.
  • 15 questions based on reading comprehension with 3 passages.
  • Passages included stories and extracts from poems, but they were easy to comprehend.
  • Direct questions with closely related options.
  • Other major topics asked in the exam: fill-in-the-blanks, one-word substitution, and para jumbles.
  • Minor topics: antonyms, synonyms, idioms, fill-in-the-blanks, and spelling errors.
  • Overall, the paper tested grammar and vocabulary, and students felt comfortable.

Shift 2:

  • English paper for CUET (UG) 2023, day 1 & shift 2 had a similar difficulty level to shift 1.
  • Students had different opinions, but none considered it difficult.
  • 3 passages with 5 questions each, including stories and extracts from poems.
  • Passages were easy to moderate to comprehend.
  • Questions included fill-in-the-blanks, fact-based questions, and matching the following.
  • Other major topics: Incorrect/Correct statements & Direct/Indirect speech.
  • Questions on the identification of parts of speech, metaphor/simile, and topics from shift 1 (1-2 questions).
  • Overall, the paper in shift 2 was easy, and students didn't face much difficulty.

CUET Exam Analysis 2023 for General Test: May 21 (Day 1; Both Shifts)

Shift 1:

  • In the general Test section on the first day (May 21), shift 1 was rated as easy by students.
  • Topics covered: Mathematics & Statistics, General Awareness, Discovery & Invention, Logic & Reasoning, and Sports.
  • Questions from elementary mathematics, reasoning (calendar and direction), general awareness, history, science, economics, geography, discovery & invention, and sports.
  • Specific topics included vitamin deficiency, the discovery of zero, the Quit India Movement, import-export, books by Mahatma Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor, and more.
  • Overall, the paper was easy and straightforward.

  • General Test section on the first day (May 21), shift 2 was rated as easy to moderate by most students.
  • Similar topics as shift 1: Numerical Ability, General Awareness, and Logical Reasoning.
  • Questions covered science (chemical reaction, biology), geometry (triangle, cube, parallelogram), economics (economist award), books & authors (Panchatantra), reasoning, and numeric ability.
  • Topics included percentages, number systems, algebra, ratio and proportion, time speed distance, profit and loss, and more.
  • Overall, the paper was easy and straightforward.

CUET Exam Analysis 2023 for Physics: May 21 (Day 1)
