IIM Jammu & IIM Bodhgaya Dignitaries Webinar on IPM Program

The Five-Year Integrated Management Program (IPM) is a comprehensive management program with a combined course of management studies from undergraduate (UG) to postgraduate (PG) level for class 12th students offering a wide range of academic and executive UG, PG, doctoral, certificate, and integrated programs.

The five-year program at IIM is a unique and creative program that aims to prepare young students full of managerial and decision-making capabilities. 

Considering this, most of you might have queries like how to get into IIMs after the 12th, the admission process, the curriculum at IIMs, and more.

To clarify all your queries, Rahl Vaswani, Product Head at Supergrads, had a discussion with IIM Bodh Gay and IIM Jammu Dignitaries.

Here is a glimpse of the conversation with Ravish Krishnamurthy, the chairperson at IIM Bodh Gaya, Durba Banerjee from IIM Bodh Gaya, Vaseem Akram from IIM Jammu, and Sanchitha Mishra, a student representative from IIM Bodh Gaya.

Question: How can you educate students about the IPM stream neutrality course? Any stream student can join this course?

Answer: IPM program is a five-year integrated program offered by both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. Management is there in every aspect, and students from any stream like commerce, humanities, science, and arts are eligible to join the IPM program. We offer four management subjects: finance, accounting, marketing, and HR. Also, we have communication courses, and especially in IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu, we have a semester-based system. Every student will have something to learn new. At IIM, we believe in teamwork and will educate students from scratch.

Question: There are a lot of rumors going on that JIPMAT will not be that easy, so what will be the exam pattern and level of difficulty this year?

Answer: The JIPMAT Exam Pattern is similar to the last year, which means there is no difference in the number of questions and the exam duration.

However, the difficulty level of the exam will be quite high this year compared to the last year. The questions are based on 10th-level mathematics.

Question: What are the JIPMAT Eligibility, Exam Date, and last date for registration?

Answer: Taking about the JIPMAT Eligibility Criteria, students should have passed class 12 in 2020, 2021, or appearing in 2022 exams to be eligible for the exam. If students belong to the general category, they must have scored a minimum of 60% marks; if they belong to SC, ST, and PwD categories, they must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in class 12.

Question: Is there any age limit for the JIPMAT exam?

Answer: No. There is no age limit for the JIPMAT exam. However, the criteria will be decided based on when they appeared for class 12 board exams.

Question: Does JIPMAT have a sectional cut-off from 2022?

Answer: Yes. JIPMAT exam will have a sectional cut-off from 2022. The JIPMAT Cut-off is decided only after the declaration of results. However, there is no sectional-time limit in the exam.

Question: What are the selection criteria for IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu?

Answer: The selection process for IIM Bodh Gaya is completely based on the JIPMAT score. For IIM Jammu, 60% weightage for the JIPMAT exam, 15% weightage for class 12 score, 15% for class 10, and we also have gender diversity. If a student is a female, then she will get an extra 10% weightage.

Question: There is news that IIM Bodh Gaya has actually increased seats this year. Is it true?

Answer: Yes. We have increased the number of seats to 120 at IIM Bodh Gaya

Question: What is the seat matrix and gender diversity at IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu?

Answer: At IIM Jammu, we give 10% weightage to female students, and boys will only have a 90% score for admission at IIM Jammu. At IIM Bodh Gaya, we have around 20 seats for female students. However, the supernumerary seats may vary depending on the number of girls taking admission at Bodh Gaya. Regarding gender diversity, 50% of seats are gender neutral, meaning boys and girls get the equal opportunity; after that, we will consider supernumerary seats.

Question: How should one prepare for JIPMAT 2022?

Answer: As the JIPMAT exam will include three sections, it is equally important to focus on all three sections. You must plan your JIPMAT preparation wisely. Taking mocks regularly helps you build accuracy and speed and also will help you discover your strengths and weakness. Many students get demotivated halfway through their preparation, but they should consider why they start this preparation before giving it up. It will help them achieve their goals.

Question: Which IIM is running NBFA schemes, and which banks are giving educational loans to students?

Answer: At IIM Bodh Gaya, we offer need-based financial assistance for economically section weaker students. Also, many government scholarships will be given to different communities. If a student has good merit but is financially weak, we will provide 100% or 75% or 50%, or 25% by considering his income level and eligibility. Already, we provided financial assistance to almost 50 students last year.

Question: What is a Foreign exchange/Student exchange program?

Answer: Generally, students require exposure. At IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu, we will give exposure to students in many ways through clubs, committees, learning from industry experts, and classroom learning. We will also teach them how we are different from other multinational companies. We tied up with 22 foreign countries and will add a few more companies to the list.

Question: Is there any safe score that we can predict for the JIPMAT exam?

Answer: We can not predict any safe score for the JIPMAT exam because we will follow the reservation policy of the central government.

There are three sections included in JIPMAT Exam: Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability. 
As there are three sections included in the JIPMAT Syllabus, the important topics from all three sections are:

No, the National Testing Agency has not yet declared the online registration process for the JIPMAT exam. But it is expected to be commenced soon.
You must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination with 60% aggregate marks to apply for the JIPMAT 2023.
Yes. There is a negative marking in JIPMAT 2023 exam. For every wrong answer, you will lose -1 marks.
The time duration of the JIPMAT exam is 2.30 hours i.e. 150 minutes
The important topics of the JIPMAT Verbal Ability Section include Vocabulary (including Synonyms & Antonyms), Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Sentence Rearrangement, Sentence Correction, Sentence Completion, Correct Usage of words and phrases, Verbal Analogies.
