Gujarat High Court Civil Judge Notification 2022

The High Court of Gujarat will publish the official Gujarat Civil Judge Notification tentatively in the last week of January 2022. The commission publishes the notification on its official website.

  • If your age is below 35 years and you have completed a bachelor's degree in Law, you can apply for the exam.
  • The selection process of the exam involves three stages: prelims, mains, and viva-voce test. All three phases are qualifying in nature.

Gujarat State Judiciary Recruitment 2022 Vacancy List

Educational Qualification

  • You must hold a degree in Law from any recognized university by Indian Law and practice as an Advocate in Courts of Civil or Criminal Jurisdiction on the last date of online application form submission. (or)

  • As per the notification, your age should be below 35 years if you belong to the general category to apply for the Gujarat Civil Judge Exam 2022.
  • For SC/ST category, the maximum age limit is 38 years.
  • If you work in the Courts or other Allied Departments, your age should not exceed 40 years.

Gujarat High Court Civil Judge Application Form 2022

You must make sure to fill the Gujarat Judiciary Application Form on or before the last date to avoid any discrepancies.

  • The initial step is online registration. You can register for the exam by clicking on the link present on the official website.
  • Once you click on the link, the required fields to enter shall appear on the screen.

  • Now, re-login to the portal using your application number and date of birth and upload your signature and photograph.

  • The final step is fee payment, which can be done online or offline as per your choice. Keep the fee receipt for your reference to avoid any discrepancies in the future.

Gujarat High Court Civil Judge Exam Fee

Fees of the Gujarat High Court Civil Judge Exam depend on the category you belong to. If you belong to the general category, you have to pay Rs.1,000 and other bank charges for the exam.

The application fee is Rs. 500 if you belong to a scheduled tribe, scheduled caste, physically disabled person, educationally or socially backward classes, ex-servicemen, etc. 

There is a separate section of payment, where you will be able to pay the fee through SBI e-Pay by clicking on the “Pay fee” option.

Gujarat High Court Civil Judge Exam Pattern 2022

According to the Judiciary Exam Pattern, there are three stages in the selection process for the Gujarat civil judge post: prelims, mains, and interview/viva-voce.

Preliminary Exam Pattern

The Preliminary Examination of the Gujarat Judiciary will be an objective type of examination.

  • The prelims question paper consists of 100 questions, and each question carries one mark.
  • Out of 100 questions, 75 questions are in English, and 25 will be in Gujarat.
  • Also, there is a negative marking of 0.33 for each wrongly answered question. 
  • The time duration of the prelims exam is 2 hours.
  • You have to score a minimum of 50% marks in the prelims exam to get shortlisted for the mains examination.

Mains Exam Pattern

The Gujarat Judiciary mains examination consists of three papers:

  • Paper 1: Criminal
  • Paper 2: Civil
  • Paper 3: Gujarati language

Paper 1 and paper 2 shall carry 75 marks each, and the time duration is 2.5 hours.

Paper 3 carries 50 marks and the time duration of the exam is 1.5 hours.

You can take paper 1 and paper 2 either in the English language or in the Gujarati language. You have to secure a minimum of 50% marks in the mains exam to get shortlisted for the viva-voce.

Viva-Voce Test (Oral Interview)

The viva-voce shall carry 50 marks. The main objective of the viva-voce is to assess your suitability for the cadre by judging the knowledge of the Law, the balance of the judgment, mental alertness, clear and logical exposition, attitude, skills, ethics, power of communication, power of assimilation, intellectual depth.

You need to score at least 40% marks in this test to get selected for the Civil Judge post in Gujarat.
