In February 2020, the Second National Judicial Service Commission issued a revised pay for all the judicial officers in the lower judiciary, which introduced salary pay that was three times the current salary.

However, the civil judge salary in India varies from state to state based on various considerations such as the state, educational qualification, etc.

The District Judge holds the highest position in City Civil courts or district courts. The salary of a civil judge in India under the Junior Division is less compared with the salary of the High Court or Supreme Court judge.

  • The senior judge will get a salary of Rs. 80,000 per month, including allowances and perks.

As per the PCS J Salary Structure, the grade pay of the High Court judge will be more than Rs. 20,000 per month, and it also depends on the years of experience.

  • The grade pay of the High Court judge starts from Rs. 12,000 and can go up to Rs 20,0000 depending on the experience of the concerned judge.
  • A person must have minimum years of experience to get the maximum grade pay.

The Chief Justice of India and the judges of the Supreme Court are appointed by the president. The Supreme Court judge draws a salary of Rs.90,000 per month, including basic salary, allowances, and perks.
