DU JAT Eligibility Criteria 2022

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts DU JAT exam every year.

If you wish to apply for the exam, you must make sure to satisfy the criteria set by the exam conducting body. Otherwise, you candidature will get cancelled.

DU JAT Exam Eligibility 2022

Eligibility criteria comprises the academic qualification requirements, a minimum percentage that should be scored in 12th standard, and more. Read check out detailed DU JAT 2022 Exam Dates & Schedule .

You can apply for the DU JAT that provides admission to professional programs like BMS, BBA programs only if you fulfill the eligibility criteria in terms of nationality, age limit, and educational qualification.

 If you fail to meet any of the below-mentioned criteria, you may not be able to proceed with the application process.  

Factors affecting your rank and admission in DU colleges

  • Your percentage in 12th and DU JAT score makes your final rank for admission
  • In the final selection, your DU JAT score will get 65% weightage (from the total marks of 400) and the XIIth percentage receives 35% of the weightage. 

DU JAT Educational Qualification 2022

You must have qualified in the senior secondary examination from CBSE or from any equivalent board to apply for the DU JAT Exam.

  • If you have appeared in the 12th examination but waiting for results can also apply for the exam.
  • You should not have any backlogs in any of your previous examinations.
  • Also, you must have minimum 60% in best of four subjects: English, Mathematics, and the other two approved by the Delhi University. (*where mathematics is mandatory)
  • Note: You must have Mathematics subject in 12th class.

Note: If you have appeared in the 12th class improvement papers, then you are not eligible to apply for the DU JAT 2022.

DU JAT Age Limit 2022

There is no upper age limit to be eligible for DU JAT exam. However, your minimum age should be 18 years in order to apply for the exam.

DU JAT Eligibility Criteria 2022: Nationality

Before proceeding with the DU JAT Application Form, you are advised to check whether you meet eligibility or not. 

  • You must be a citizen of India to apply for the exam.
  • If you are a foreign student and seeking admission to the professional undergraduate programs at Delhi University, then you can apply separately on Foreign Students’ Registry website and can contact the Deputy Dean (Foreign Students’ Registry), Conference Centre, University of Delhi-110007.

Minimum Marks Required for DU JAT 2022

DU JAT Eligibility under Minority Quota

The admission process will vary for different categories of reservation. Apart from SC/ST/OBC/EWS, there is a reservation system for minority quota.

  • If you belong to Sikh and Christian minority, then you can take admission under the minority quota in the minority colleges of Delhi University.
  • It is not mandatory that you must be a domicile of Delhi to avail of this minority quota.
  • If you belong to Kashmir, then you will be provided with another specific reservation.

DU JAT Reservation Criteria

The relaxation of marks is provided for eight categories that are termed as "Supernumerary" as per the information brochure released by the Delhi University. The following categories are eligible for the merit-based admission process.

  • Nominated Sikkimese aspirants
  • KW (Kashmiri Migrants)
  • CW(Children/widow of armed forces personnel including para-military forces)
  • PwD(Person with Disability)
  • ECA(Extra-Curricular Activities
  • Sports Quota
  • PM’s special scholarship for Jammu & Kashmir
  • Ward Quota

DU JAT Category-based Reservation

As per the DU JAT eligibility criteria norms, a certain percentage of seats are reserved for different categories. Check the criteria of reservation of seats for all categories from the table below.
