CUET Reservation Policy 2022

With the CUET exam introduced for UG program admissions into Central Universities, reservation policies have also been published by the National Testing Agency. 

The UGC Chairman informed that the universities can enroll students for general and reserved seats on the basis of CUET scores as per the university reservations. 

Therefore, bear in mind that the respective university reservation policy or seat reservations still remains unaffected.

When applying for admissions at a particular central university, be sure to check their corresponding reservations as well.

NTA CUET Exam Reservation Policy 2022

By being aware of the CUET reservation policy, you are bound to understand the benefits like application fee, cutoff marks, and also course fees at the time of admission. 

As per the rules set by the Government of India, NTA has some ground rules and CUET reservation policies.

CUET Exam Application Fees 2022 as per Reservation

The table below gives an idea of the amount for the CUET application fees. To be aware if you belong to the OBC category, confirm on the NCBC website. Others fall into the general category. 

Note that the amount mentioned in the table below is INR.

CUET Reservation Documents 2022

NTA does not entertain changes in category/ subcategories. Initially, what is filled in the application form will be considered throughout the admission process. 

Documents to be submitted while applying for CUET exams for each category of students are mentioned below. 

On failing to provide the documents, one shall be categorized in the default category. 

  • GEN-EWS category 

GEN-EWS certificate (Annexure-IA) must be uploaded on CUET (UG) - 2022 application. 

On failing to upload, at the time of online registration, the candidate has to upload a declaration [Declaration in Lieu of Gen-EWS Certificate at Annexure-IB] to that effect (Reference: No.F.No.20013/01/2018-BC-II).

  • OBC-NCL category

OBC-NCL certificate (Annexure-IIA) must be uploaded on CUET (UG) - 2022 application

On failing to upload, the candidate has to upload a declaration [Declaration in Lieu of OBC-NCL Certificate as per Annexure-IIB] to that effect. Visit http://www.ncbc.nic.in for the latest guidelines and updates on the Central List of State-wise OBCs. 

  • SC or ST category

Certificate (Annexure-III) must be uploaded, as per the latest guidelines of the Government of India.

  • PwBD category

UDID/ Annexure-IV (Form-PwBD(II))/ Annexure-V (Form-PwBD(III))/ AnnexureVI (Form-PwBD(IV)), whichever is applicable, issued by the notified medical authority needs to be uploaded. 

Candidates with Dyslexic must submit Annexure-VII (Form-DYSLEXIC-1) and

Annexure-VIII (Form-DYSLEXIC 2) instead of Annexure-IV (FormPwBD(II))/Annexure-V (Form-PwBD(III))/Annexure-VI (Form-PwBD(IV)). 

Only patients mentioned as "severe" in Dyslexia are capable of applying under the PwBD category. And in such cases, Annexure-VII (Form DYSLEXIC-1) and Annexure-VIII (Form-DYSLEXIC-2) must be merged into a single pdf file and uploaded.

CUET Provisions and Facilities for PwBD Candidates

In case of physical disability, the facility of a Scribe is offered as it becomes essential to write the examination that is supervised by the CMO/ Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution.

Such students are also given Compensatory time of 15 minutes for 45 minutes exams, and 20 minutes for one-hour examinations directed by the Government Guidelines. Candidates who are: 

  • Visually impaired or dyslexic
  • Have a disability in the upper limbs
  • Have lost fingers/hands

Can avail the facility of the scribe. These services are as per the office memorandum of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. 

Remember to opt for the facility while filling out the online application form. 

The candidate must produce a PwBD certificate or certificates of Dyslexic (Form DYSLEXIC 1 and DYSLEXIC 2). 

The Scribe will be provided by the National Testing Agency only. The candidates will "not" be allowed to bring their own scribe.

NTA CUET Reservation Important Points 2022

  1. The minimum degree of disability should be 40% in order to be eligible for availing reservations for persons with specified disabilities.
  2. The extent of “specified disability” in a person will be assessed in accordance with the “Guidelines for the purpose of assessing the extent of specified disability in a person included under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016)” notified in the Gazette of India by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment [Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)] on 4 January 2018.

CUET Seat Reservation for Central Universities 2022

Generally, the NTA states the below % reserved for each category through CUET scores. However, the central university reservations are also applicable.

The number of seats available for each category differs for different colleges and their courses. Visit the official website of the university you are applying for, before registering for the CUET exam 2022. 

CUET Admission Policy 2022

  • Just appearing in CUET (UG) - 2022 does not allow admission to the desirous University.
  • The selection and admission are subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, merit list, medical fitness, verification of original documents, and such other criteria required by the University you apply for.
  • Admissions are handled at the level of each of the Central Universities (CUs) for their respective programs. 
  • After the declaration of the CUET (UG) - 2022 result by NTA, the respective CUs will declare the counseling/ admission schedule and merit list based on the University.
  • For all admission-related procedures/queries, the candidates are advised to refer to the website of the applied University after the declaration of the result of CUET (UG) – 2022.
  • NTA does not have any role in the preparation of the Merit List.
