UGC NET Application Form 2020

The UGC NET Exam is conducted twice a year in the month of June and December. The candidates should go through the UGC NET Eligibility Criteria and check their eligibility before filling up the online form.

  • The UGC NET Registration Forms can be filled only in the online mode
  • As per the UGC NET Notification 2020, the last date for Application Form Correction will be 18th-24th April 2020

How To Fill UGC NET Application Form 2020

Candidates have to follow the steps mentioned below in order to fill the UGC NET 2020 application form:

Step 1 – Registration:

  • Candidates have to visit the official website of UGC – ugcnet.nta.nic.in order to fill UGC NET application form 2020.
  • Candidates have to enter their name, their Mother’s name, Father’s name as given in the Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/ University Certificate in capital letters.
  • Date Of Birth in dd/mm/yyyy format as recorded by Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/ University Certificate should be entered while registration.
  • Candidates must provide a valid email address and phone number while registering.

Step 2 – Entering the details: 

  • After logging in, candidates have to enter their details such as gender, minority status, postal address, preferential exam center, the course at PG level, subject at PG level NET subject and then clicking on the “Submit” option.
  • After submitting, candidates can review their details before hitting the “Final Submit” button.
  • Candidates will receive an application number after submitting the form.

Step 3 – Uploading scanned documents: 

  • Candidates should then upload scanned images of their documents.
  • The supported format is JPG/JPEG. The dimensions for the photograph should be 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm and the size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
  • The photograph must be taken on or after 1st March 2020 indicating the name of the candidate along with the date of taking the photograph.
  • Photographs should be taken with a white background and there is no need for the photographs to be attested.
  • The dimensions for signature should be 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm and the size should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
  • The signature must be put in running handwriting with a black pen on a white paper and then scanned and uploaded.

Step 4 – Payment for the form:

  • After uploading, candidates have to pay the UGC NET Application Fee online using a debit/credit card or net banking of SBI/Syndicate/HDFC/ICICI Bank or through UPI or PayTM.

Step 5 – Downloading the form:

  • The final step is to download the confirmation page. Print out at least 4 copies of the application form for further communication

Correction In UGC NET Application Form 2020

Candidates who want to make any corrections in their UGC NET Application Form should follow the guidelines mentioned below:

  • The form correction facility will be available from 25th April to 2nd May 2020.
  • It will be available on the official website – ugcnet.nta.nic.in
  • Email and SMS will be sent to candidates whose application form requires rectifications.
  • Only certain fields such as name, parent’s name, date of birth, contact address, category, and gender can be edited by the candidates.
  • The final date to make all the changes is 2nd May 2020.

  • Candidates who have secured more than 55% marks in a post-graduate degree are allowed to fill the application form (50% for reserved candidates)

  • PhD degree holders who have completed before September 19, 1991 have been provided an additional relaxation of 5% in minimum marks requirement.
