Whether you are a CUET aspirant or simply curious about the requirements for admission, this exploration of passing marks in CUET aims to provide clarity and guidance in your pursuit of higher education excellence.

In this comprehensive guide, we will delve into the intricacies of CUET 2025 passing marks.

Passing marks in CUET: CUET Passing Mark is not Fixed

Contrary to several conventional tests that have a set passing score, the CUET does not have a standard passing score that is applicable to all courses, disciplines and colleges.

The CUET exam has several different courses and programs, each of which has a different set of CUET passing scores and other prerequisites.

Passing marks in CUET 2025: Requirements

The passing criteria for CUET can vary based on several factors, which are as follows -

  • Course and Program: The degrees of competition in various programs may vary. Due to a shortage of seats or higher demand, some programs may require a higher mark for admission through CUET.
  • Category and Reservation: Due to reservation guidelines and seat distribution percentages, the CUET exam passing marks may also differ depending on the candidate's category (General, SC, ST, OBC, etc.).
  • Level of Difficulty: The passing score for a particular CUET exam phase may be impacted by the CUET exam's level of difficulty. If the paper is more difficult, the CUET pass marks may be modified through a normalization process. The number of applicants and their collective performance over the course of a year can also affect the passing scores. Higher passing marks could result from more intense competition.
  • Minimum Required Score: CUET applicants are often rated according to their performance on the exam rather than having a set passing score. Universities and other organizations publish merit lists that list the names of applicants who achieved scores higher than the cutoff, often known as the "minimum required score," which is established by these elements.
