IPMAT Eligibility Criteria 2020

The IIM Indore has released the eligibility criteria based on Age Limit, Qualifying Exam, and Minimum Percentage of marks required. 

  • IPMAT Age Limit: Candidate should have been born on or after August 01, 2000 (5 years of relaxation to the candidates from SC/ST/PwD category will be given i.e. born on or after August 01, 1995).
  • IPMAT Qualifying Exam: Candidate should have passed Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examination in 2018, 2019, or appearing in 2020.
  • Minimum Percentage of Marks: Candidate belonging to the General category should have Minimum 60% in standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ PwD category must have 55 % minimum percentage.

Important Points to Remember for IPMAT Eligibility 2020

  • Candidates who complete XII/ HSC standard or equivalent by the end of June 30, 2020, can also apply, however, the IPMAT eligibility criteria as mentioned above must be fulfilled.
  • If such candidates are selected, they will be offered admission to the program provisionally. But, at the time of registration for the program, such candidates must have to produce standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations mark sheet (securing minimum marks, as indicated above) along with school-leaving certificate/migration certificate.
  • Candidates failing to submit required documents for provisional admission offer will be canceled.
  • The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in X and XII Standard will be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the mark sheet/grade sheet, irrespective of the Board’s regulation.
  • In case the candidates are awarded letter grades or grades points instead of marks, the conversion of grades to the percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the Board or Authority explaining the method of conversion from where they have obtained the certificate.
  • Applicants pursuing their X and/or XII standard from international schools affiliated to foreign boards like IGCSE (International General Certificate for Secondary Education) and IB (International Baccalaureate) can also apply.
  • IIM Indore reserves the right to decide the eligibility conditions in terms of equivalence, percentage marks, and the recognition of the qualifying examination, intake, etc.
  • Candidates belonging to the NC/OBC category should not be more than 20 years of age as on July 31, 2020, while candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD/SD should not exceed 22 years of age as on July 31, 2020.

IPMAT Exam Pattern 2020

  • The exam consists of three sections for a total of 400 marks
  • The total time duration for completion of the exam is 2 hours.
