Calculate JEE Main 2020 rank based on NTA Percentile score

Step 1: Distribute the Examinees in two days and in two shifts per day.

Candidates would be distributed in 4 sessions so that each session has an approximately equal number of candidates.

  • Session 1: Day-1 Shift-1, Session-2: Day-1 Shift-2
  • Session 3: Day-2 Shift-1 and Session-4: Day-2 Shift-2

Step 2: Preparation of Results for each Session

The examination results for each session would be prepared in the form of Raw Scores and Percentiles Scores separately for each subject that is Aptitude, Maths, and Drawing in JEE Main paper 2 and the Total.

The following 4 % must be calculated for each candidate in the Session:

Let T1, M1, A1, D1 be the raw scores in Total, Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing of a candidate and

T1P, M1P, A1P, D1P be the percentile scores of Total, Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing of the candidate.

Step-3: Compilation of NTA score and Preparation of Overall Merit/ Rank List :

The Percentile scores for the Total Raw Score for all the four sessions (Session-1: Day-1 Shift-1, Session2: Day-1 Shift-2, Session-3: Day-2 Shift-1 and Session-4: Day-2 Shift-2) as calculated in Step-2 above will be merged and is called the NTA scores which are used for the preparation of overall Merit List/ Ranking.
