CUET PG LLM Eligibility Criteria 2022

National Testing Agency has notified the CUET PG LLM eligibility criteria along with other notifications listed earlier. 

If you are going to appear in the CUET exam for admission to the LLM program, you must check the information brochure for all eligibility-related details.

As per the brochure, a total of twenty-one central and state-based universities shall be taking admission on the basis of the CUET PG LLM score card. Therefore, you are advised to make sure that you fulfill all the factors before filling out the application form. 

One of the primary reasons for this is if your application forms do not adhere to the basic CUET PG eligibility prescribed by the agency? Then, your application form will be rejected and you won't be allowed to take up the examination. 

The registration process of CUET PG LLM has been already commenced by the agency. The latest updates suggest that the entrance examination shall be held in the first or second week of July 2022. 

  • The agency has not prescribed any particular age limit for the CUET PG LLM exam.
  • The applicant must be having an LLB or BA LLB degree from a recognized university in the country.
  • There is no mention of a state-based domicile for this examination.
  • The final selection in the examination is subjected to candidates qualifying for the CUET PG LLM eligibility and entrance examination with high marks.

CUET PG LLM Eligibility Criteria 2022

NTA has released the CUET PG Admit card for exam dates 01, 02, 03 September 2022 on 29 August 2022. Please download the admit card from the official website of CUET PG website.

All the state, central and private universities shall be taking admission to the LLM courses on the basis of the scorecard of the CUET 2022 examination. 

A total of twenty-one universities have decided to participate in the admission process. 

Also, the final admission in the LLM course is based on two factors i.e qualifying for the CUET PG LLM eligibility and scoring high marks in the examination. 

With that in mind, check out the basic eligibility criteria relevant to the Law programs offered by the universities below. 

Age Limit

No age limit is mentioned for the CUET PG LLM examination. However, the university may notify them of separate age limits relevant to them before the counseling process. If you qualify for that only then, you will be provided admission into the LLM course.

Educational Qualification

As per the CUET PG LLM eligibility, the basic educational qualification for this going to be a BA LLB degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.

Reservation Policy

The agency is going to follow the caste-based reservation policy as laid down by the central government. Go through the section below to know about the reservation policy followed by NTA:

  • Out of the total seats, a total of 10% seats shall be reserved for the candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section.
  • The reservation for the OBC category is going to be 27% of the total seats for categories furnished by the central government. 
  • Similarly, a reservation of seats equivalent to 15% of seats in every course is applicable for the Scheduled Caste (SC).
  • Similarly, a reservation of 7.5% of the total seats is for the ST and 5% of the seats are for the PwBD category students.

Scribe Details

As per the information brochure if you are visually or orthopaedically disabled and cannot write the exam on your own. Then, in that case, you will be allowed to take the help of a scribe for writing the examination. However, there are certain rules that you should know before opting for the scribe facility in the CUET PG LLM exam.

  • The physical disability should be above 40%,
  • You have to submit your disability certificate in the prescribed format on the day of the examination.
  • Your physical inability has to be certified by a CMO/Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution.
  • The scribe will only read out the question and mark the correct answer as told by you.
  • The scribe shall be assigned by NTA before the exam, you cannot bring your own scribe. 
  • You will be awarded a compensatory timing equal to 20 minutes for each completed hour if you are a PWD candidate.

As notified earlier, only twenty-one state and central universities shall be participating in the CUET PG LLM examination. However, not all the universities are offering LLM in Law.
