Central Universities Common Entrance Test is an All India Entrance Test conducted to provide admissions to various undergraduate, post-graduate, and research programs in Central Universities of India.

The Central Government has set up a National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct the CUCET Exam from the 2022-23 academic sessions. 

The New Education Policy approved by the Union Cabinet focuses on the complete organized improvement of education in India.

The common entrance test for university admission will include an aptitude test and specialized common subject examination for all three streams (Commerce, Arts, and Science) as per New Education Policy.

The National testing agency will direct a computer-based common entrance test for the admission of students in all the central universities.

Also, the undergraduate degree will be of 3 or 4 years and will have multiple exit options. This aptitude test includes subjects like quantitative aptitude, reasoning, and English.

The common entrance test will be directed twice every year. So, the students can give the entrance test twice in one year and consider their best score from both the examinations for admission.

As per the CUCET Eligibility Criteria, students scoring 60% marks in their Class XII board examination from any recognized board or university are eligible to apply for the common entrance test.

The students who have completed their 1 year in their undergraduate degree course and want to drop out, will be given a certificate of completing one year.

The students who have completed their 2 or 3 years in their undergraduate degree course and want to drop out, will be awarded a diploma and a bachelor’s degree respectively. 4-year bachelor’s program will be the preferred choice for the students as they will be awarded a degree with research if they complete the project alongside.

The University of Delhi (DU) is the first university to implement this 4-year bachelor’s program under the new education policy. Slowly every university has to implement this bachelor’s program.

Only this 4-year bachelor’s degree will be considered at the time of the job because you will get a bachelor’s degree and get a research certificate that will help you at the time of your job.

The National testing agency has already announced the common entrance test for 54 central universities. The central government has set up a seven-member committee to give direction on suggested common aptitude tests and subject-specific tests.

The seven-member committee will be directed by professor R P Tiwari, vice-chancellor of the central university of Punjab, Bathinda. The other members include VCs (Vice-chancellor) of DU, Central University of South Bihar, the Central University of Mizoram, and Banaras Hindu University, along with the director-general of NTA (National testing Agency) and joint secretary (central universities) of MOE (Ministry of Education).

 The National Education Policy has permitted 100 top-ranked foreign universities to set up campuses in India. This will change higher education in India.

As per the policy documents, these foreign universities will be given special dispensation regarding regulatory, governance, and content norms on par with other autonomous institutions in India.

For the beginning only there are 54 universities that will be implementing this new education policy but after some years definitely every university will be coming with their entrance test to bring parity in the system.

This system will progress and students will become comfortable with this soon. And this policy is created for the benefit of each and every student.
