Common Entrance Test for Central Universities is capturing attention and is a buzz for so long now. There is yet another update for aspirants applying for the CUCET exam.

CUCET Exam Dates Announced

The Ministry of Education shall announce the CUCET Exam Date later this month. The first session of CUCET shall be conducted tentatively in June 2021. 

There would be a single application form process through which you can apply for various colleges. As per the CUCET Exam Pattern, the question paper comprises 2 parts. You can watch the below video for more information regarding the examination.

The announcement by Delhi University

Delhi University has officially announced that admissions to the college will happen on the basis of common entrance tests only.

Students have now been left confused if class 12 marks will be the criteria of selection or not this time.

The system of best of four/merit-based selection will be abolished this year onwards as per the update.

Possible Changes

Dean Admissions of Delhi Shobha Bagai stated that Class 12 marks should not be the criteria for admissions if an entrance test is being conducted.

DU acting Vice-Chancellor PC Joshi stated that the admission process is based on 50% weightage on CUCET and 50% on board exam results.

Challenges for University

From this year, Central Universities have to calculate percentile scores instead of a percentage. 

Universities have to present the exact weightage for board exams and the weightage for Common Entrance Test.

What will Certainly Happen?

It is mandatory to give Common Aptitude Test to get admission to Central Universities including Delhi University.

DU JAT will get merged with Common Entrance Test for Central Universities this year onwards.

NTA is responsible for conducting the Central Universities Common Entrance Test and it will be mostly objective-based aptitude test.

The exam is conducted expectedly in the month of July 2021 or August 2021.
