What is CUCET Exam 2021?

  • As said above,  CUCET is a national-level entrance test offering admissions to 54 central universities across India.
  • Previously, you were judged considering your 12th marks, but now you need to appear for a common aptitude test.
  • 7 member committee will recommend modalities for this aptitude test. 
  • The test will commence from the 2021-2022 batch with a frequency of 2 times a year. This will be a computer-based test conducted by the National Test Agency.
  • Some of the popular institutes include Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Jamia Milia Islamia, Jawahar Lal Nehru University, etc. These universities are going to conduct this exam for the first time this year as per the recent recommendation.
  • NEP decided to discard the merit-based competition for admission to such universities. Admissions will only be done through this common entrance test.

Why Central Universities Common Entrance Test 2021 [CUCET]?

The entrance exam is scheduled for May 2021. The notification or final recommendation on the exam will be out soon.

Am I Eligible for CUCET Exam 2021?

The eligibility criteria remain the same as the entrance exams after the 12th. You must have passed the 12th standard with a minimum of 60%. You can apply if you are studying in class 12, however, you need to submit the documents during verification. 

The previous eligibility shall vary as per each course and university you wish to apply for. For now, there isn’t much clarity on the eligibility.

The expected CUCET Eligibility Criteria for the courses are enlisted below:

  • All Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
  • For UG courses, the minimum qualification shall be 50% for the General category. 5% relaxation shall be given to SC/ST students.
  • PG applicants belonging to the General category must have 55% aggregate marks. 5% relaxation to SC/ST students will be given.
  • Ph.D. applicants who have qualified CSIR UGC NET (JRF), GATE, NBHM will have to mandatorily register for the exam. They don’t have to give the entrance test.

What is the Expected CUCET Education Policy?

The application window shall open in online mode in the month of April 2021. There is a common registration process for UG, PG, and Ph.D. students.

Here are the steps to fill the CUCET Application Form:

  • Register yourself as a new user on the official website by filling in your personal details.
  • Login again to fill in the educational qualification, basic details, and communication information in the form.
  • Uploading the required documents namely photograph and signature shall follow the above step.
  • Paying the application fee in online or offline mode is the last step. Choose desired payment mode and pay accordingly.
  • Print the final submitted form for future reference. Make sure there are no errors. Preview the form before submission.

What is the CUCET Exam Pattern 2021?

Based on the news published in the TOI newspaper, the question paper would comprise of subjects listed below:

  • Verbal Ability
  • Quantitative Ability
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Subject-specific test (to be chosen by the student while filling the form)

There might be current affairs added in the pattern. however, there is no clarity regarding that. This shall be confirmed soon by the government.

CUCET 2021 Syllabus: Expected Topics

Given are the expected topics for UG or Integrated courses offered through this entrance exam.

CUCET Expected Topics for Non-Engineering Courses

There will be only one test paper for this session. The question paper will comprise 100 MCQs from the following discipline. i.e. English, Numerical Aptitude/Data Interpretation, Analytical Skills, Reasoning, General Aptitude, General Knowledge.

CUCET Expected Topics for Engineering Courses

Part A will comprise 25 MCQs from the following discipline. i.e. English, Numerical Aptitude/Data Interpretation, Analytical Skills, Reasoning, General Aptitude, General Knowledge.

Part B is a domain knowledge-based section that will check topics related to Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

You must answer Section I (Physics) & II (Chemistry). From Section III and Section IV, only one section either Mathematics (Section III) or Biology (Section IV) should be attempted and answered. In case, a candidate answers both Mathematics and Biology Sections, the best of three sections i.e. Section I, II, and either III or IV will be evaluated and considered for result preparation.

You should be less than 19 years old for undergraduate courses and less than 25 years old for postgraduate courses.

Is there interviews for all programs in CUCET?

No. Interview round is conducted for selected courses in CUCET, typically for candidates applying for MSc/MA in Digital Society course.
