Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board, Uttar Pradesh Police will start recruiting for the year 2020 in March 2020. As per the UP Constable notification, 52000 posts of constable and sub-inspector are vacant. Candidates can apply for the vacant posts online. The UP police constable new notification states that the application process is slated to start in January 2020. However, one needs to gather all the details regarding the recruitment before applying. 

UP Constable Notification 2020

• The number of vacant posts for UP Constable 2020 is 52000.
• Interested candidates may start applying for the posts online in January 2020.
• The application process will be done online
• The application fee for candidates belonging to any category is 200
• The age limit for the post is from 18 to 22.
• As per the UP constable notification, the minimum education qualification required for the post of UP constable is 12th standard.
• Physical standards will vary from male to female.
• SC, ST and OBC candidates will be given relaxation in terms of physical standards.

The vacant 52000 posts, the posts vacant for the constables will be divided into unreserved, OBC, SC and ST. 

Application formalities

Interested candidates have to apply via an online application. According to the UP constable notification, the online application process will start in January and the last date of submitting the application is the 2nd week of February 2020. The application fees for the post of constable is Rs.200. The payment can be made through Credit and Debit Cars, e-Challan, Mobile Banking and so on. The last date of submitting the fees is the 4th week of March 2020.

UP Constable Application process

The application is given on the official website of Uttar Pradesh Police. The candidates will get the application form by clicking on the link given for application. The candidates will then need to fill-up the form with their information. All the data has to be authentic. After filling up the online form, the candidates will have to take a print out and submit the form. The application fees will have to be submitted along with the form.  

Age limit and relaxation

The age of the applicant has to be 18 but no more than 28. No relaxation on the age has been stated in the UP constable notification, to any candidate belonging to any category. 

Educational qualification

It is clearly mentioned in the UP constable notification, that one must have completed 12th standard from a recognized school or board in order to be eligible for the post of constable. Moreover, the applicants only with basic computer typing knowledge can apply for the vacant posts.

UP Constable Physical Standards

Male

• For SC and ST candidates the height has to be 160 cm. For other categories, the height must be 168 cm.
• The minimum weight limit 50 Kilograms, however, the weight limit may vary as per the height of the candidates
• For SC and ST candidates, the chest size required to be 77 cm and for other categories, the chest size should be 19 cm.

Female

• The required height for General, SC, and OBC category is 152 cm and for the ST category the minimum height limit is 147 cm
• The minimum weight limit is 40 Kilograms
• Running speed has to be 2.4 kilometers in 14 minutes
• There is no mention of any particular chest size for female candidates in the UP constable notification.

UP Constable Selection process

• The selection process will be done in the following five steps-
• Physical Standard Test
• Physical Efficiency Test
• Medical Test
• Written Test
• Documentation Verification

The first two tests will be done as per the physical eligibility criteria. The candidates passing these two tests will qualify for the Medical Test round. The medical verification is a very important part. As per the UP police constable recruitment 2013 notification, this medical verification had to be done twice after a writ petition was filed in court. The last step of the whole recruitment process is Documentation Verification. 

Written Test

UP police constable latest notification indicates that the Written Test will consist of total marks of 300. 150 marks will be for General Knowledge and Current Affairs. 75 marks are to be given for Reasoning Ability and another 75 marks are for Numerical Ability. All the questions will be objective and multiple-choice type. For every wrong answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted. The written test will be held offline and OMR Sheets will be given for the test. The Preliminary and Main Exam can be combined in a single paper. 

Syllabus for the written test

• General Knowledge may consist of questions from History, Geography, Science, Economics, Sports, Literature, Indian Constitution, Culture, Society, grammar and so on.
• Current Affairs can be based on National and International events.
• Reasoning Ability includes space visualization, analysis, decision-making, problem-solving, arithmetical problems and so on.
• Numerical Ability has questions from decimals, fractions, ratio, percentage, average, profit and loss, tables and interest.

UP Constable Admit card

The applicants will receive an admit card after a few days before the examination via email, provided the applicants are eligible for the post. The admit card will consist of all the necessary details such as the examination date, center and so on. Any candidate will not be allowed to sit for the examination in the absence of the admit card.

UP Constable Salary

The salary of the Constables as stated in the UP constable notification is between Rs.5200 to 20,000. Their grade pay will be Rs.2000.

UP Constable Result

Uttar Pradesh Police is yet to announce the date of the result. The results will be published on their official website.

Recent Notification regarding 2018-19 UP Constable Recruitment

Uttar Pradesh Police published UP Police constable notification 2018 for recruitment on 17th November 2018. The last date for registration for 2018-19 recruitment was 8th December 2018. Therefore, the application process for 2018-19 recruitment is done. However, some candidates have missed the dates for Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). As per the aforementioned UP Police constable notification, new dates were given for those who missed the previous PST and PET dates. 

The candidates who were absent on 19th and 20th December 2019 were asked to appear for a retest on 29th and 30th December 2019. The candidates absent on 21st and 22nd December 2019 had to appear for the exam on 3rd December 2019 and 2nd January 2020. The candidates absent on 27the, 28th, 29th and 30th December 2019 were to appear for the exam on the 5th, 1st and 2nd January 2020.

Vacant posts for UP Constables 2018-19

According to the UP constable vacancy 2018 notification, there are 49568 vacancies as per the notification of Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment board. 

Constable Civil Police

Among the 49568 vacant posts, 31360 posts are for Constable Civil Police. 15681 seats are reserved for general candidates and 8467 seats are reserved for OBC candidates. On the other hand, 6585 and 627 seats are reserved respectively for SC and ST candidates.

Constable in Pradeshik Armed Constabulary

18208 posts are for Constable in Pradeshik Armed Constabulary. The reserved seat numbers for the General candidates are 9104, for OBC candidates are 4916, for SC candidates are 3824 and for ST candidates are 364.

Age limit and relaxation 

Male

The minimum age limit for the post UP Constable 2018-19 is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 22 years.

Female

The minimum age limit for UP Constables female is 22 years and the maximum age limit is 25 years.
