TRIFED ने लॉन्च किया गांव और डिजिटल कनेक्ट ड्राइव - “संकल्प से सिद्धि”

• ट्राइबल को-ऑपरेटिव मार्केटिंग फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (TRIFED) ने गाँव और डिजिटल कनेक्ट ड्राइव - संकल्प से सिद्धि लॉन्च किया है। यह एक 100-दिवसीय ड्राइव है जिसे 1 अप्रैल को शुरू किया गया था। यह अभियान 10 गाँवों का दौरा करने वाली 150 टीमों को सम्मिलित करता है, जिनमें से प्रत्येक को TRIFED और राज्य कार्यान्वयन एजेंसियों से प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में 10 गाँवों का दौरा करना है।
• इस अभियान का मुख्य उद्देश्य वन धन विकास केंद्रों को सक्रिय करना है। जनजातीय मामलों के मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में कहा कि अगले 100 दिनों में प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में 100 गांव और देश के 1500 गांव शामिल होंगे।

पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री और गुजरात के विधायक दिग्विजयसिंह जाला का निधन

• पूर्व केंद्रीय पर्यावरण मंत्री और गुजरात के वांकानेर से विधायक, दिग्विजयसिंह ज़ला का निधन हो गया।
• अनुभवी कांग्रेस नेता 1982 से 1984 तक तत्कालीन प्रधान मंत्री इंदिरा गांधी के तहत भारत के पहले पर्यावरण मंत्री बने थे।

मलयालम पटकथा लेखक पी. बालचंद्रन का निधन

• मलयालम पटकथा लेखक, फिल्म निर्माता, नाटककार और अभिनेता, पी. बालाचंद्रन का निधन हो गया है। वे पावम उस्मान नाटक से लोकप्रिय हुए थे जिसके लिए उन्होंने वर्ष 1989 में केरल साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार और केरल व्यावसायिक नाटक पुरस्कार जीता था।
• बालाचंद्रन ने उल्लादक्कम (1991), पवित्रम (1994), अग्निदेवन (1995), पुनाराधीवसम (2000) और कम्मट्टी पाडम (2016) सहित कई फिल्में लिखी हैं। उन्होंने इवान मेघरूपन (2012) से निर्देशन में डेब्यू किया था। उन्होंने कुछ फिल्मों में काम भी किया है, जिनमें से सबसे उल्लेखनीय है त्रिवेंद्रम लॉज (2012)।

शब्बीर खंडवाला बने BCCI ACU प्रमुख

• शब्बीर हुसैन शेखामंद खंडवाला BCCI भ्रष्टाचार निरोधक इकाई के नए प्रमुख बन गए हैं, इससे पहले वह गुजरात के पुलिस महानिदेशक (DGP) के रूप में कार्य कर चुके हैं। वह 1973 बैच के आईपीएस अधिकारी 70 वर्षीय, अजीत सिंह से पदभार ग्रहण करेंगे, जिनका कार्यकाल 31 मार्च को समाप्त हो गया था।
• 2010 के अंत में गुजरात डीजीपी के रूप में सेवानिवृत्त होने के बाद, खंडवाला ने एस्सार समूह के साथ सलाहकार के रूप में काम किया और केंद्र सरकार की लोकपाल खोज समिति का भी हिस्सा थे।

• रवांडा में तुत्सी के खिलाफ 1994 के नरसंहार पर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस पर विचार प्रति वर्ष 7 अप्रैल को विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। रवांडा में तुत्सी के खिलाफ 1994 के नरसंहार पर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस की घोषणा 2003 में संयुक्त महासभा द्वारा की गई थी। 7 अप्रैल को, जिस दिन तुत्सी के सदस्यों के खिलाफ नरसंहार शुरू हुआ था। लगभग 100 दिनों के लिए, 800,000 से अधिक तुत्सी की हत्या कर दी गई।

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र प्रति वर्ष 6 अप्रैल को विकास और शांति हेतु अंतरराष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस (International Day of Sport for Development and Peace) के रूप में मनाता है। खेल सभी समाजों में ऐतिहासिक रूप से एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते है, चाहे वह प्रतिस्पर्धी खेल, शारीरिक गतिविधि या खेल के रूप में हो। खेल संयुक्त राष्ट्र (यूएन) प्रणाली के लिए एक स्वाभाविक साझेदारी भी प्रस्तुत करता है।

सुमन चक्रवर्ती को मिलेगा वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान के लिए 30वां जीडी बिड़ला पुरस्कार

• प्रोफेसर सुमन चक्रवर्ती को इंजीनियरिंग विज्ञान में उनके उत्कृष्ट योगदान के लिए वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान के लिए 30वें जीडी बिड़ला पुरस्कार और सस्ती स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं के लिए विकासशील प्रौद्योगिकियों में इसके अनुप्रयोगों के लिए चुना गया है। वह भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (IIT), खड़गपुर के मैकेनिकल इंजीनियरिंग विभाग में एक संकाय सदस्य हैं।

• लॉरेंस गुस्मान प्रोफेसर एमेरिटस ऑफ कंप्यूटर साइंस, अल्फ्रेड वी. अहो (Alfred V. Aho) ने 2020 एसोसिएशन फॉर कंप्यूटिंग मशीनरी (ACM) ए.एम. ट्यूरिंग अवार्ड, जिसे अनौपचारिक रूप से "कंप्यूटिंग का नोबेल पुरस्कार" कहा जाता है। अहो ने अपने लंबे समय के सहयोगी जेफरी डेविड उल्मैन (Jeffrey David Ullman) के साथ पुरस्कार साझा किया।

TRIFED launches “Sankalp se Siddhi”- Village and Digital Connect Drive

• Tribal Co-operative Marketing Federation of India (TRIFED) has launched Sankalp Se Siddhi - Village & Digital Connect Drive. It is a 100-day drive which was started on the 1st of April. The drive entails 150 teams visiting 10 villages each of which 10 in each region from TRIFED & State Implementation Agencies, visiting 10 villages each.
• The main aim of this drive is to activate the Van Dhan Vikas Kendras. Ministry of Tribal Affairs in a statement said that 100 villages in each region and 1500 villages in the country will be covered in the next 100 days.
• They will also identify tribal artisans and other groups and empanel them as suppliers so that they can have access to larger markets through the Tribes India network - both physical outlets and TribesIndia.com.
• It is expected that Sankalp Se Siddhi will aid in effecting a complete transformation of the tribal ecosystem across the country.

Hurkacz beats Sinner to win Miami Open

• Hubert Hurkacz of Poland won the biggest title of his career by beating 19-year-old Jannik Sinner of Italy 7-6 (4), 6-4 in the Miami Open final.
• Hurkacz became his country's first Masters 1000 champion. The world number 37 is the lowest-ranked player to win a Masters event since Tomas Berdych in Paris in 2005.

Former Union Minister and Gujarat MLA Digvijaysinh Zala passes away

• Former Union Environment Minister and an MLA from Wankaner in Gujarat, Digvijaysinh Zala has passed away.
• The veteran Congress leader became the first Environment Minister of India under the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from 1982 to 1984.

Malayalam screenwriter P. Balachandran passes away

• Malayalam screenwriter, filmmaker, dramatist and actor, P. Balachandran has passed away. He is best known for the play Paavam Usman for which he won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award and Kerala Professional Nataka Award in the year 1989.
• Balachandran has scripted many films including Ulladakkam (1991), Pavithram (1994), Agnidevan (1995), Punaradhivasam (2000), and Kammatti Paadam (2016). His directorial debut is Ivan Megharoopan (2012). He has also acted in a few films, the most notable being Trivandrum Lodge (2012).

Shabir Khandwawala appointed new BCCI ACU chief

• Shabir Hussein Shekhadam Khandwawala, who has served as the Gujarat Director General of Police (DGP) before, is the new BCCI Anti-Corruption Unit chief.
• The 70-year-old, a 1973 batch IPS officer, takes over from Ajit Singh whose tenure ended on March 31. After retiring as Gujarat DGP in late 2010, Khandwawala worked with the Essar Group as an advisor and was also part of the central government's Lokpal Search Committee.

• International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda observed globally on 7 April every year. The International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda was announced by the United General Assembly in 2003. On April 7th, the date where the genocide against members of the Tutsi began. For approximately 100 days, over 800,000 Tutsi were assassinated.
• UNESCO aims to educate the world population regarding genocides and the consequences of the crime. UNESCO is committed to promoting education about genocides as a means to sensitize learners for the causes, dynamics and consequences of such crimes and to strengthen their resilience against all forms of discrimination.

World Health Day observed globally on 7 April

• The World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated on 7 April every year. On April 7th every year, governmental as well as non-governmental health organizations organize events that focus on promoting healthier habits of living. From exciting activities to pledges and support plans, these events aim to create awareness about what can increase the life expectancy of people around the world.
• The Theme of World Health Day 2021: “Building a fairer, healthier world for everyone”.
• In 1948, the WHO held the First World Health Assembly. The Assembly decided to celebrate 7 April of each year, with effect from 1950, as World Health Day. The World Health Day is held to mark WHO’s founding and is seen as an opportunity by the organization to draw worldwide attention to a subject of major importance to global health each year.

International Day of Sport for Development and Peace: 6 April

• The United Nations celebrates the 6th of April every year as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. Sport has historically played an important role in all societies, be it in the form of competitive sport, physical activity or play. Sports also presents a natural partnership for the United Nations (UN) system.
• Sport can help promote fairness, team building, equality, inclusion and perseverance. Sport and physical activity can also help us get through times of crisis, like COVID-19, by reducing anxieties and improving physical and mental health. The professional sport also provides employment and income to many people around the world and an integral sector to the economic success of many communities and regions.

Suman Chakraborty to get 30th GD Birla Award for Scientific Research

• Professor Suman Chakraborty has been selected for the 30th GD Birla Award for Scientific Research for his outstanding contribution to engineering science and its applications in developing technologies for affordable healthcare. He is a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur’s department of mechanical engineering.
• He is credited with establishing the first microfluidics laboratory in the framework of an academic institution in India to facilitate the study of how tiny volumes of fluids flow through small channels. Apart from being a reputable academic, Chakraborty has invented technologies that have not only been patented but also licensed to industrial houses for commercialisation.

Alfred Aho Wins the 2020 ACM Turing Award

• Lawrence Gussman Professor Emeritus of Computer Science, Alfred V. Aho has won the 2020 Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) A.M. Turing Award, known informally as the "Nobel Prize of computing." Aho shares the award with his long-time collaborator Jeffrey David Ullman.
• Aho and Ullman began working together at Bell Labs in 1967 and their early efforts included developing efficient algorithms for analyzing and translating programming languages. Even when Ullman began a career in academia in 1969 while Aho remained at Bell Labs, they continued their collaboration for several decades and shaped the foundations of programming language theory and implementation, as well as algorithm design and analysis.
