आभासी शिखर सम्मेलन: भारत और ब्रिटेन ने महत्वाकांक्षी रोडमैप 2030 ’को अपनाया

• भारत और यूके ने मंगलवार को प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और उनके ब्रिटिश समकक्ष बोरिस जॉनसन के बीच आभासी शिखर सम्मेलन के दौरान महत्वाकांक्षी रोडमैप 2030 ’को अपनाया, ताकि द्विपक्षीय संबंधों को एक 'व्यापक रणनीतिक साझेदारी' के रूप में उभारा जा सके।
• "रोडमैप अगले दस वर्षों में लोगों के प्रमुख क्षेत्रों में लोगों से संपर्क, व्यापार और अर्थव्यवस्था, रक्षा और सुरक्षा, जलवायु कार्रवाई और स्वास्थ्य के लिए गहन और मजबूत जुड़ाव का मार्ग प्रशस्त करेगा।"
• एक ट्वीट में, प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने लिखा, "हमने 2030 तक द्विपक्षीय व्यापार को दोगुना से अधिक करने के लक्ष्य के साथ एक व्यापक एफटीए के रोडमैप के रूप में एक उन्नत व्यापार भागीदारी के शुभारंभ का स्वागत किया। हम कई नई पहलों में भी सहमत हुए स्वास्थ्य, प्रौद्योगिकी, ऊर्जा, आदि पर।

फेसबुक ने मोबाइल ऐप पर वैक्सीन खोजक उपकरण पेश किया

• फेसबुक ने भारत में अपने मोबाइल ऐप पर एक वैक्सीन खोजक उपकरण (vaccine finder tool) पेश करने के लिए भारत सरकार के साथ साझेदारी की है, जिससे टिका लगाने के लिए लोगों को आस-पास के स्थानों की पहचान करने में मदद मिलेगी। इस हफ्ते की शुरुआत में, सोशल मीडिया दिग्गज ने देश में C-19 स्थिति के लिए आपातकालीन प्रतिक्रिया प्रयासों के लिए 10 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर के अनुदान की घोषणा की थी।
• भारत सरकार के साथ साझेदारी करते हुए, फेसबुक भारत में फेसबुक मोबाइल ऐप पर अपने वैक्सीन फाइंडर टूल को 17 भाषाओं में उपलब्ध कराना शुरू कर देगा ताकि लोगों को वैक्सीन पाने के लिए आस-पास के स्थानों की पहचान करने में मदद मिल सके।
• इस उपकरण में, स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय (MoHFW) द्वारा वैक्सीन केंद्र स्थानों और उनके संचालन के घंटे प्रदान किए गए हैं।
• देश में प्रशासित C-19 वैक्सीन खुराक की संचयी संख्या 15.22 करोड़ को पार कर गई है।

BCCI ने 4 भारतीय महिला क्रिकेटरों को NOC प्रदान की

• बीसीसीआई ने 21 जुलाई से शुरू होने वाले यूनाइटेड किंगडम में उद्घाटन ’हंड्रेड’ टूर्नामेंट में खेलने के लिए टी20 कप्तान हरमनप्रीत कौर सहित चार भारतीय महिला क्रिकेटरों को “अनापत्ति प्रमाण पत्र” प्रदान किया है।
• सलामी बल्लेबाज स्मृति मंधाना और हरफनमौला दीप्ति शर्मा 100 गेंद के टूर्नामेंट के लिए चार में से एक हैं।
• यह पता चला है कि ये चार भारतीय खिलाड़ी जून-जुलाई में इंग्लैंड के भारत के बहु-प्रारूप दौरे के पूरा होने के बाद यूके में अपने प्रवास का विस्तार करेंगे।
• यह दौरा 16 जून को ब्रिस्टल में एक बार के टेस्ट के साथ शुरू होगा और 15 जुलाई को तीसरे और अंतिम T20 के साथ संपन्न होगा।

असम की पहली महिला IAS अधिकारी पारुल देबी का निधन

• असम की पहली महिला IAS अधिकारी पारुल देबी दास (Parul Debi Das) का निधन हो गया है। वह असम-मेघालय कैडर के IAS अधिकारी थे।
• वह अविभाजित असम के पूर्व कैबिनेट मंत्री - रामनाथ दास की बेटी थीं। वह असम के पूर्व मुख्य सचिव नाबा कुमार दास (Naba Kumar Das) की बहन थीं।

 ‘शूटर दादी’ का C-19 के कारण निधन हो गया

• शूटर चंद्रो तोमर, जिनका उपनाम ‘शूटर दादी’ है, का C-19 के कारण 89 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया है।
• वह उत्तर प्रदेश के बागपत गाँव की रहने वाली थीं, तोमर की आयु 60 वर्ष से अधिक थीं, जब उन्होंने पहली बार बंदूक उठाई थी, लेकिन दिग्गजों के लिए कई राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं में जीत हासिल की, उनके असाधारण काम ने अंततः अवार्ड विनिंग बॉलीवुड फिल्म 'सांड की आँख (Saand ki Aankh)' को प्रेरित किया।

 वैज्ञानिक मानस बिहारी का निधन हो गया

• भारतीय एयरोनॉटिकल वैज्ञानिक, मानस बिहारी वर्मा, जिन्होंने लाइट कॉम्बैट एयरक्राफ्ट (LCA) - तेजस के विकास में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई, का निधन हो गया है। उन्होंने वैमानिकी धारा में 35 वर्षों तक रक्षा अनुसंधान विकास संगठन (DRDO) में एक वैज्ञानिक के रूप में काम किया।
• उन्हें तेजस विमान यांत्रिक प्रणाली के डिजाइन के लिए जिम्मेदारी दी गई थी, जहां उन्होंने एयरोनॉटिकल डेवलपमेंट एजेंसी (एडीए) में तेजस विमान के पूर्ण पैमाने पर इंजीनियरिंग विकास के लिए जिम्मेदार टीम का नेतृत्व किया था। प्रख्यात वैज्ञानिक को 2018 में पद्म श्री नागरिक सम्मान से सम्मानित किया है।

दाई(मिडवाइफ) का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस 2021: 05 मई

• 1992 के बाद से प्रतिवर्ष 5 मई को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर दाई का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस मनाया जाता है। यह दिवस दाइयों के काम को मान्यता देने और माताओं और उनके नवजात शिशुओं को प्रदान की जाने वाली आवश्यक देखभाल के लिए दाइयों की स्थिति के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए मनाया जाता है।
• मिडवाइफ के 2021 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस के लिए थीम “Follow the Data: Invest in Midwives है।”
• दाइयों को पहचानने और उन्हें सम्मानित करने के लिए एक दिन होने का विचार 1987 में नीदरलैंड में मिडवाइव्स सम्मेलन से लिया गया है। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मिडवाइव्स डे पहली बार 5 मई 1991 को मनाया गया था, और दुनिया भर के 50 से अधिक देशों में मनाया जाता है।

 विश्व हाथ स्वच्छता दिवस 2021: 05 मई

• विश्व हाथ स्वच्छता दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 5 मई को मनाया जाता है। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) द्वारा विश्व भर में लोगों के बीच जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए कई गंभीर संक्रमणों को दूर करने में हाथों की स्वच्छता के महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए इस दिवस का आयोजन किया जाता है।
• 2021 के लिए विषय है 'सेकंड सेव लाइव्स: क्लीन योर हैंड्स’। यह दिन हाथ धोने को सबसे प्रभावी क्रियाओं में से एक के रूप में पहचानता है, जिसे C-19 वायरस सहित संक्रमणों की एक विशाल श्रृंखला से बचने के लिए लिया जा सकता है।

 विश्व अस्थमा दिवस 2021: 04 मई

• विश्व अस्थमा दिवस प्रतिवर्ष मई के पहले मंगलवार को मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष, विश्व अस्थमा दिवस 4 मई 2021 को मनाया जा रहा है। यह दिन दुनिया भर में अस्थमा की बीमारी और देखभाल के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाता है। जबकि प्राथमिक ध्यान अस्थमा से पीड़ित व्यक्ति के साथ-साथ परिवार, दोस्तों और देखभाल करने वालों का भी समर्थन करना है। 2021के लिए विश्व अस्थमा दिवस का विषय "Uncovering Asthma Misconceptions" है यानी "अस्थमा की गलत धारणा को उजागर करना।"
• विश्व अस्थमा दिवस का आयोजन ग्लोबल इनिशिएटिव फॉर अस्थमा (GINA) द्वारा प्रतिवर्ष किया जाता है। 1998 में, बार्सिलोना, स्पेन में पहली विश्व अस्थमा बैठक के संयोजन में 35 से अधिक देशों में पहला विश्व अस्थमा दिवस मनाया गया।

सुश्री उज्ज्वला सिंघानिया को फिक्की एफएलओ के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया

• सुश्री उज्ज्वला सिंघानिया को FICCI महिला संगठन (FLO) के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है, जो दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया की सबसे पुरानी महिला-नेतृत्व वाली और महिला-केंद्रित व्यापार संगठन है।
• उन्होंने श्रीमती के रूप में प्रख्यात व्यक्तित्वों की उपस्थिति में FLO के 37 वें वार्षिक सत्र में FLO के 38 वें अध्यक्ष के रूप में पदभार संभाला। स्मृति ईरानी, माननीय महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्री, श्री नरेन्द्र सिंह तोमर, ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री, डॉ जितेन्द्र सिंह, पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र विकास मंत्री, भारत सरकार आदि ने सम्‍मेलन में भाग लिया।
• FLO के 38 वें राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष के रूप में सुश्री सिंघानिया महिलाओं को उद्यमिता, उद्योग की भागीदारी और आर्थिक विकास को बढ़ावा देने वाले एक सक्षम वातावरण की सुविधा देकर महिलाओं को सशक्त बनाने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेंगी।

RBI ने ICICI बैंक पर 3 करोड़ रुपये का मौद्रिक जुर्माना लगाया

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने प्रतिभूतियों को एक श्रेणी से दूसरी श्रेणी में स्थानांतरित करने के मामले में अपने निर्देशों का पालन न करने के लिए ICICI बैंक पर 3 करोड़ रुपये का मौद्रिक जुर्माना लगाया है। बैंक पर यह मौद्रिक जुर्माना बैंक द्वारा 'वर्गीकरण, मूल्यांकन और निवेश पोर्टफोलियो के लिए प्रूडेंशियल नॉर्म्स' पर अपने मास्टर सर्कुलर में संचालन के लिए निहित दिशा-निर्देशों के उल्लंघन के लिए लगाया गया है।
• यह जुर्माना बैंकिंग विनियमन अधिनियम, 1949 (अधिनियम) के प्रावधानों के तहत RBI में निहित शक्तियों के प्रयोग में लगाया गया है। RBI ने कहा कि प्रतिभूतियों को एक श्रेणी से दूसरी श्रेणी में लाने, अंतर आलिया, निर्देशों के उल्लंघन के मामले में पत्राचार की एक परीक्षा। यह कार्रवाई विनियामक अनुपालन में कमियों पर आधारित है और इसका उद्देश्य बैंक द्वारा अपने ग्राहकों के साथ किए गए किसी भी लेनदेन या समझौते की वैधता की व्यवस्था करना नहीं है।

Virtual summit: India and UK adopted the ambitious ‘Roadmap 2030’

• India and the UK on Tuesday adopted the ambitious ‘Roadmap 2030’ during the virtual summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his British counterpart Boris Johnson, to elevate bilateral ties to a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’.
• “The Roadmap will pave the way for a deeper and stronger engagement over the next ten years in the key areas of people to people contacts, trade and economy, defence and security, climate action and health,”.
• In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, “We welcomed the launch of an Enhanced Trade Partnership as a roadmap to a comprehensive FTA, with a target to more than double the bilateral trade by 2030. We also agreed upon several new initiatives in health, technology, energy, etc.”

Facebook introduces vaccine finder tool on mobile app

• Facebook has partnered with the GOI to roll out a vaccine finder tool on its mobile app in India, which will help people identify places nearby to get inoculated. The social media giant had, earlier this week, announced a USD 10 million grant for emergency response efforts for the C-19 situation in the country.
• Partnering with the GOI, Facebook will begin rolling out its Vaccine Finder tool on the Facebook mobile app in India available in 17 languages to help people identify places nearby to get the vaccine.
• In this tool, vaccine centre locations and their hours of operation have been provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
• The cumulative number of C-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 15.22 crore.

BCCI granted NOC to 4 Indian Women cricketers

• The BCCI has granted “No Objection Certificates” to four Indian women cricketers, including T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur, to play in the inaugural ‘Hundred’ tournament in the United Kingdom starting on July 21.
• Opener Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma are among the four bound for the 100-ball tournament.
• It is learnt that these four Indian players will extend their stay in the UK following the completion of India’s multi-format tour of England in June-July.
• The tour begins with a one-off Test at Bristol on June 16 and concludes with the third and final T20I on July 15.

OBITUARY

First female IAS officer of Assam, Parul Devi passed away

• Parul Devi Das, the first female IAS officer from Assam, passed away. She was an Assam-Meghalaya cadre IAS officer.
• She was the daughter of the former cabinet minister of undivided Assam – Ramnath Das. She was the sister of former Assam Chief Secretary Naba Kumar Das.

 ‘Shooter Dadi’ passed away due to C-19

• Shooter Chandro Tomar, nicknamed ‘Shooter Dadi’, passed away at the age of 89 due to C-19.
• She was hailing from the Baghpat village in Uttar Pradesh, Tomar was 60-plus when she picked up the gun for the first time but went on to win many national competitions for veterans, her feats ultimately inspiring the award-winning Bollywood movie ‘Saand ki Aankh’.

 Scientist Manas Bihari Passed Away

• The Indian aeronautical scientist, Manas Bihari Verma, who played an instrumental role in the development of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) – Tejas, has passed away. He worked as a scientist at the Defence Research Development Organization (DRDO) for 35 years in the aeronautical stream.
• He was given the responsibility for the design of the Tejas aircraft mechanical system, where he led the team responsible for the full-scale engineering development of the Tejas aircraft in the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA). The noted scientist has conferred the Padma Sri civilian honour in 2018.

International Day of the Midwife 2021: 05 May

• International Day of the Midwife is observed globally on 5 May every year since 1992. This day is celebrated to recognise the work of midwives and raise awareness about the status of midwives for the essential care they provide to mothers and their newborns.
• The theme for 2021 International Day of the Midwife is “Follow the Data: Invest in Midwives.”
• The idea of having a day to recognize and honour midwives came out of the 1987 International Confederation of Midwives conference in the Netherlands. International Midwives’ Day was first celebrated May 5, 1991, and has been observed in more than 50 nations around the world.

 World Hand Hygiene Day 2021: 05 May

• Every year, the World Hand Hygiene Day is observed on May 5. The day is organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness among people across the globe about the importance of hand hygiene in warding off many serious infections.
• The theme for 2021 is ‘Seconds Save Lives: Clean Your Hands’. The day recognizes hand washing as one of the most effective actions that can be taken to avoid a huge range of infections including the C-19 virus.

 World Asthma Day 2021: 04 May

• World Asthma Day is observed every year on the 1st Tuesday of May. This year, World Asthma Day is observed on May 4, 2021. The day spread awareness about asthma disease and care around the world. Whilst the primary focus is supporting the person with asthma, support may also extend to family, friends and caregivers. The theme for 2021 World Asthma Day is “Uncovering Asthma Misconceptions“.
• World Asthma Day is annually organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA). In 1998, the first World Asthma Day was celebrated in more than 35 countries in conjunction with the first World Asthma Meeting in Barcelona, Spain.

Ms Ujjwala Singhania has been appointed as the National President of FICCI FLO

• Ms Ujjwala Singhania has been appointed as the National President of FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), the oldest women-led & women-centric business chamber of Southeast Asia.
• She took over as the 38th President of FLO at the FLO’s 37th Annual Session in presence of eminent personalities including Smt. Smriti Irani, Honourable Minister for Women & Child Development, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Honourable Minister for Rural Development, Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister for Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India among others.
• As the 38th National President of FLO Ms Singhania will focus on empowering women by facilitating an enabling environment that promotes entrepreneurship, industry participation and economic development of women. Under her leadership, FLO will carry out many interventions towards fostering larger contributions of women in India’s Industrial and economic Growth story.

 BANKING AND ECONOMY

 RBI imposed monetary penalty of Rs.3 crore on ICICI Bank

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs.3 crores on ICICI Bank for non-compliance with its directions in the matter of shifting of securities from one category to another. The monetary penalty has been imposed on the Bank for contravention of certain directions contained in its Master Circular on ‘Prudential Norms for Classification, Valuation and Operation of Investment Portfolio by Banks.’
• This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers vested in RBI under the provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (the Act). RBI observed that an examination of correspondence in the matter of shifting of securities from one category to another revealed, inter alia, contravention of the aforesaid directions issued by it. This action is based on the deficiencies in regulatory compliance and is not intended to pronounce upon the validity of any transaction or agreement entered into by the bank with its customers.
