यूपी सरकार ने शुरू की बाल-सेवा योजना

• उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने C-19 महामारी के कारण अपने माता-पिता को खोने वाले बच्चों के लिए बाल-सेवा योजना शुरू की।
• मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने ऐसे बच्चों की देखभाल के लिए कई उपायों की घोषणा की और कहा, यदि माता-पिता में से कोई भी जीवित नहीं है, तो देखभाल करने वाले को सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।
• राज्य सरकार ऐसे बच्चों को 4,000 रुपये प्रति माह की वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करेगी।
• ऐसे बच्चों को यदि वे किसी स्कूल में शिक्षा प्राप्त कर रहे हैं या कोई व्यावसायिक पाठ्यक्रम कर रहे हैं, तो सरकार उन्हें लैपटॉप/टैबलेट भी उपलब्ध कराएगी।
• इस महामारी में अपने माता-पिता को खोने वाली बालिकाओं की शादी के लिए 1,01,000 रुपये की वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।

इफको नैनो यूरिया बाजार में उतारेगी

• भारतीय किसान उर्वरक सहकारी (इफको) अगले महीने नैनो यूरिया को बाजार में उतारेगी।
• 500 मिली नैनो यूरिया, जिसकी कीमत 240 रुपये है, 45 किलो सामान्य यूरिया के बराबर है। इससे खेती की लागत कम होने के साथ-साथ उपज में भी वृद्धि होती है।
• रसायन और उर्वरक मंत्री डीवी सदानंद गौड़ा ने कहा, नैनो यूरिया कृषि क्षेत्र के लिए एक गेम-चेंजर साबित होगा क्योंकि इससे सामान्य यूरिया की खपत में काफी कमी आने की उम्मीद है जिससे सब्सिडी और विदेशी मुद्रा पर एक बड़ी राशि की बचत होगी। यह इको फ्रेंडली भी है।

महिलाओं को हर महीने सैनिटरी पैड बांटने के लिए पंजाब ने शुरू की 'उड़ान' योजना

• पंजाब की सामाजिक मंत्री अरुणा चौधरी ने शुक्रवार को अंतरराष्ट्रीय मासिक धर्म स्वच्छता दिवस के अवसर पर राज्य भर में महिला सशक्तिकरण उन्मुख "उड़ान योजना" का शुभारंभ किया।
• योजना के तहत पंजाब में हर महीने जरूरतमंद महिलाओं और लड़कियों को सैनिटरी पैड मुफ्त में बांटे जाएंगे।
• राज्य भर में 1,500 स्थानों पर प्रसारित लाइव वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग को संबोधित करते हुए, चौधरी ने कहा कि इस योजना का मुख्य उद्देश्य महिलाओं और लड़कियों को मासिक धर्म संबंधी बीमारियों से बचाना, जागरूकता फैलाना, स्वच्छता उत्पादों तक पहुंच में सुधार करना, उच्च मानक को बढ़ावा देना है।

सरकार ने 30 सितंबर तक आपातकालीन क्रेडिट लाइन गारंटी योजना का विस्तार किया

• 30 मई को वित्त मंत्रालय ने सी-19 महामारी की दूसरी लहर के कारण हुए आर्थिक व्यवधान के बीच आपातकालीन क्रेडिट लाइन गारंटी योजना (ईसीएलजीएस) के दायरे का और विस्तार किया। प्रभावी रूप से इसका मतलब है कि सरकार ने स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं में ऑक्सीजन उत्पादन संयंत्रों की स्थापना के लिए 2 करोड़ रुपये तक के ऋण को कवर करने के लिए 3 लाख करोड़ रुपये के ईसीएलजीएस के दायरे का विस्तार किया है।
• वित्त मंत्रालय द्वारा 30 मई को जारी एक बयान में, 'ईसीएलजीएस 4.0' के हिस्से के रूप में, क्लीनिक, अस्पतालों, नर्सिंग होम और मेडिकल कॉलेजों को दिए गए 2 करोड़ रुपये तक के ऋण के लिए 100 प्रतिशत गारंटी कवर दिया जाएगा। साइट पर ऑक्सीजन उत्पादन संयंत्र स्थापित करने के लिए। "ब्याज दर उसी के लिए 7.5 प्रतिशत पर सीमित कर दी गई है।

C-19: सरकार ने ईपीएफओ, ईएसआईसी योजनाओं के तहत अतिरिक्त लाभों की घोषणा की

• श्रम और रोजगार मंत्रालय ने रविवार को C-19 महामारी के बीच ईपीएफओ और ईएसआईसी द्वारा संचालित सामाजिक प्रतिभूति योजनाओं के माध्यम से श्रमिकों के लिए अतिरिक्त लाभ की घोषणा की।
• इन लाभों में कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा निगम (ईएसआईसी) के बीमित व्यक्तियों के आश्रितों के लिए पेंशन, जिनकी मृत्यु C-19 के कारण हुई है और कर्मचारियों द्वारा संचालित समूह बीमा योजना कर्मचारी जमा लिंक्ड बीमा योजना (ईडीएलआई) के तहत अधिकतम बीमा राशि में वृद्धि शामिल है। भविष्य निधि संगठन (EPFO) को 6 लाख रुपये से बढ़ाकर 7 लाख रुपये कर दिया गया है।
• "श्रम और रोजगार मंत्रालय ने C-19 महामारी के कारण मृत्यु की घटनाओं में वृद्धि के कारण अपने परिवार के सदस्यों की भलाई के बारे में श्रमिकों के डर और चिंता को दूर करने के लिए ईएसआईसी और ईपीएफओ योजनाओं के माध्यम से श्रमिकों के लिए अतिरिक्त लाभों की घोषणा की है।

पीएम मोदी ने C-19  के कारण अनाथ बच्चों के लिए 10 लाख रुपये PM CARES फंड की घोषणा की

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने C-19 के कारण अपने माता-पिता को खोने वाले बच्चों के लिए कई कल्याणकारी उपायों की घोषणा की है। C-19 के कारण माता-पिता या जीवित माता-पिता या कानूनी अभिभावक या दत्तक माता-पिता दोनों को खोने वाले सभी बच्चों को पीएम-केयर्स फॉर चिल्ड्रन योजना के तहत सहायता दी जाएगी।
• सरकार ने "पीएम-केयर्स फॉर चिल्ड्रन" योजना की घोषणा की है जिसके तहत पीएम-केयर्स फंड से ऐसे बच्चों के नाम पर सावधि जमा खोली जाएगी।
• प्रत्येक बच्चे के लिए निधि का कुल कोष 10 लाख रुपये होगा।
• इस कोष का उपयोग बच्चे के 18 वर्ष की आयु तक पहुंचने पर मासिक वित्तीय सहायता/वजीफा देने के लिए, अगले पांच वर्षों तक उसकी व्यक्तिगत आवश्यकताओं की देखभाल के लिए किया जाएगा।
• 23 वर्ष की आयु तक पहुंचने पर, बच्चे को व्यक्तिगत और व्यावसायिक उपयोग के लिए एकमुश्त राशि के रूप में राशि मिलेगी।

चेल्सी ने 2020-21 यूईएफए चैंपियंस लीग जीती

• चेल्सी ने फाइनल में मैनचेस्टर सिटी को 1-0 से हराकर 2020-21 यूईएफए चैंपियंस लीग का खिताब 29 मई, 2021 को पुर्तगाल के पोर्टो में एस्टाडियो डो ड्रैगाओ में खेला।
• जर्मन फारवर्ड काई हैवर्ट ने फुटबॉल मैच का एकमात्र गोल किया। 2012 में पहली जीत हासिल करने के बाद चेल्सी के लिए यह दूसरा चैंपियंस लीग खिताब है।

एशियाई मुक्केबाजी चैंपियनशिप 2021: मैरी कॉम को रजत पदक

• भारतीय मुक्केबाज मैरी कॉम, दुबई में 2021 ASBC एशियाई मुक्केबाजी चैंपियनशिप में रजत पदक के लिए दो बार की विश्व चैंपियन कजाकिस्तान की नाज़िम किज़ैबे से हार गईं। पांच बार की एशियाई चैंपियनशिप की स्वर्ण पदक विजेता मैरी कॉम हाई-ऑक्टेन 51 किग्रा फाइनल में प्रतिस्पर्धा कर रही थीं। एशियाई चैंपियनशिप में मैरी कॉम के लिए यह दूसरा रजत है, जिन्होंने इससे पहले 2008 में रजत पदक जीता था। इसके अलावा, उन्होंने 2003, 2005, 2010, 2012 और 2017 सहित पांच मौकों पर विश्व चैंपियनशिप खिताब जीते।
• इस बीच, पूजा रानी ने एशियाई मुक्केबाजी चैंपियनशिप में 75 किग्रा महिला मध्य वर्ग के फाइनल में स्वर्ण पदक जीता। उन्होंने स्वर्ण पदक के संघर्ष में मावलुदा मोवलोनोवा को हराया।

विश्व तंबाकू निषेध दिवस 2021: 31 मई

• विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) और वैश्विक साझेदार प्रतिवर्ष 31 मई को विश्व तंबाकू निषेध दिवस (WNTD) मनाते हैं। वार्षिक अभियान तंबाकू के उपयोग और सेकेंड हैंड स्मोक एक्सपोजर के हानिकारक और घातक प्रभावों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने और किसी भी रूप में तंबाकू के उपयोग को हतोत्साहित करने का एक अवसर है।
• इस वर्ष 2021 WNTD का विषय "छोड़ने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध (Commit to quit)" है। यह वार्षिक उत्सव जनता को तंबाकू के उपयोग के खतरों, तंबाकू कंपनियों की व्यावसायिक प्रथाओं, तंबाकू महामारी से लड़ने के लिए WHO क्या कर रहा है, और दुनिया भर के लोग स्वास्थ्य और स्वस्थ जीवन के अपने अधिकार का दावा करने और भावी पीढ़ियों की रक्षा करने के लिए क्या कर सकते हैं, के बारे में जनता को सूचित करता है।

बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था

PSB, C-19 उपचार के लिए 5 लाख रुपये तक का ऋण देगा

• भारतीय स्टेट बैंक के अध्यक्ष दिनेश खारा ने कहा कि सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंक अब वेतनभोगी, गैर-वेतनभोगियों और पेंशनभोगियों को C-19 उपचार के लिए 5 लाख रुपये तक के असुरक्षित व्यक्तिगत ऋण की पेशकश करेंगे। ब्याज दर लगभग 8.5 प्रतिशत हो सकती है, लेकिन बैंकों में भिन्न हो सकती है। पीएसबी इसे इमरजेंसी क्रेडिट लाइन गारंटी स्कीम (ईसीएलजीएस) के तहत मुहैया कराएगा। इसके तहत न्यूनतम ऋण 25,000 रुपये होगा।
• बैठक में आईबीए के अध्यक्ष राजकिरण राय और आईबीए के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी सुनील मेहता ने भी भाग लिया। C-19 महामारी के प्रभाव को कम करने के लिए सभी सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंकों द्वारा विभिन्न C-19 सहायता उपायों की घोषणा करने के लिए संयुक्त प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस आयोजित की गई थी।

NATIONAL

UP government launched Bal-Seva Yojana

• Uttar Pradesh Government also launched Bal-Seva Yojana for the children who lost their parents due to C-19 pandemic.
• Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a slew of measures for the care for such children and said, the assistance will be provided to the care taker, if none of the parents are alive.
• The State Government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 4,000 per month to such children.
• Government will also provide laptop/Tablet to such children if they are getting education in any school or are doing any professional course.
• Financial assistance of Rs. 1,01,000 will be provided for the marriage of girl children who lost their parents in this pandemic.

IFFCO to launch Nano Urea in the market

• Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) will launch Nano Urea in the market next month.
• 500-ml Nano Urea, which costs 240 rupees, is equivalent to 45kg of normal urea. Besides reducing the cost of cultivation, it increases the yield.
• Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister DV Sadananda Gowda said, the Nano Urea will be a game-changer for the farming sector as it is expected to reduce the consumption of normal urea substantially thus saving a huge sum on subsidy and forex. It is also eco-friendly.

Punjab launches 'Udaan' scheme to distribute sanitary pads to women every month

• Punjab Social Minister Aruna Chaudhary on Friday launched the women-empowerment oriented "Udaan Scheme" throughout the state on the occasion of International Menstrual Hygiene Day.
• Under the scheme, sanitary pads will be distributed free of cost to women and girls in need every month within Punjab.
• Addressing the live video conferencing, which was telecasted at 1,500 locations across the state, Chaudhary said the main objective of the scheme is to protect women and girls from menstrual hygiene diseases, spread awareness, improve accessibility to hygiene products, promote a higher standard of living for women, and enhance their self-esteem and ensure disposal of sanitary pads.

 Govt Extends Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme Till Sep 30

• On May 30 the Finance Ministry further expanded the scope of the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) amid the economic disruption caused by the second wave of the C-19 pandemic. Effectively this means that the government has expanded the scope of the Rs 3 lakh crore ECLGS to cover loans up to Rs 2 crore for setting up on-site oxygen generation plants at healthcare facilities.
• In a statement issued by the Finance Ministry on May 30, as part of the ‘ECLGS 4.0’, a 100 percent guarantee cover will be extended to loans of up to Rs 2 crore granted to clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, and medical colleges for setting up on-site oxygen generation plants. "The interest rate has been capped at 7.5 percent for the same.

C-19: Govt announces additional benefits under EPFO, ESIC schemes

• The Ministry of Labour and Employment on Sunday announced additional benefits for workers through social securities schemes run by the EPFO and the ESIC amid the C-19 pandemic.
• These benefits include pension for dependents of insured persons with Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) who died due to C-19 and hike in maximum sum assured under the group insurance scheme Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI), run by Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), to Rs 7 lakh from Rs 6 lakh.
• "The Ministry of Labour and Employment has announced additional benefits for workers through ESIC and EPFO schemes to address the fear and anxiety of workers about wellbeing of their family members due to increase in incidences of death due to C-19 pandemic,".

PM Modi announced Rs 10 Lakh PM CARES Fund for kids orphaned due to C-19

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a number of welfare measures for children who lost their parents to C-19. All children who have lost either both parents or surviving parents or legal guardians or adoptive parents due to C-19 will be supported under PM-CARES for Children scheme.
• The government has announced the “PM-CARES for Children” scheme under which fixed deposits will be opened in the names of such children from the PM-CARES fund.
• The total corpus of the fund will be Rs 10 lakh for each child.
• This corpus will be used to give a monthly financial support/ stipend when the child reaches 18 years of age, for the next five years to take care of his or her personal requirements.
• Upon reaching the age of 23 years, the child will get the corpus amount as one lump sum for personal and professional use.

Chelsea wins 2020-21 UEFA Champions League

• Chelsea defeated Manchester City 1–0 in the final, to lift the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League title, on May 29, 2021, played at the Estádio do Dragão in Porto, Portugal.
• German forward Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the football match. This is the second Champions League title for Chelsea, after winning the first won in 2012.

Asian Boxing Championships 2021: Mary Kom Settles with Silver Medal

• Indian pugilist Mary Kom, lost to two-time world champion Nazym Kyzaibay of Kazakhstan, to settle for silver medal at the 2021 ASBC Asian Boxing Championships in Dubai. The five-time Asian Championships gold medallist Mary Kom was competing in a high-octane 51kg final. This is the second silver for Mary Kom at the Asian Championships who has previously won silver in 2008. Apart from this, she won world championship titles on five occasions including 2003, 2005, 2010, 2012, and 2017.
• Meanwhile, Pooja Rani won the gold medal in the 75kg Women’s Middle category final at the Asian Boxing Championships. She defeated Mavluda Movlonova in the gold medal clash.

World No-Tobacco Day 2021: 31 May

• Every year, on 31st May, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global partners celebrate World No Tobacco Day (WNTD). The annual campaign is an opportunity to raise awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second-hand smoke exposure, and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form.
• This year theme of the 2021 WNTD is “Commit to quit.” This yearly celebration informs the public on the dangers of using tobacco, the business practices of tobacco companies, what WHO is doing to fight the tobacco epidemic, and what people around the world can do to claim their right to health and healthy living and to protect future generations.

BANKING AND ECONOMY

PSBs to offer loans up to Rs 5 lakh for C-19 treatment

• Public sector banks will now offer unsecured personal loan for C-19 treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to salaried, non-salaried and pensioners, said State Bank of India chairman Dinesh Khara. The rate of interest could be around 8.5 per cent but could differ across banks, he said on Sunday in a virtual press conference. The PSB will be providing this under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS). The minimum loan under this will be Rs 25,000.
• The meeting was also attended by IBA Chairman Rajkiran Rai and IBA Chief Executive Officer Sunil Mehta. The joint press conference was held to announce various C-19 support measures by all public sector banks to mitigate the impact of C-19 pandemic.
