चेन्नई का एमजीआर रेलवे स्टेशन सौर ऊर्जा से संचालित

• डॉ एमजी रामचंद्रन सेंट्रल (DRM) या चेन्नई सेंट्रल रेलवे स्टेशन को सौर ऊर्जा के माध्यम से 100 प्रतिशत ऊर्जा मिलेगी। चेन्नई सेंट्रल रेलवे स्टेशन दक्षिण मध्य रेलवे (एससीआर) क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत आता है और जो विश्‍व का सबसे बड़ा हरित रेलवे नेटवर्क बनने जा रहा है। स्टेशन अब पहला भारतीय रेलवे स्टेशन बन जाएगा, जिसे सौर पैनलों के माध्यम से 100 प्रतिशत दिन की ऊर्जा मिलेगी।
• स्टेशन की सौर ऊर्जा क्षमता 1.5 मेगावाट है और स्टेशन के शेल्टरों पर सोलर पैनल लगाए गए हैं।
• दक्षिण मध्य रेलवे ने 'ऊर्जा तटस्थ' रेलवे स्टेशनों की अवधारणा को अपनाया है और ऐसा करने वाला पहला भारतीय रेलवे जोन बन गया है।
• भारत ने वर्ष 2030 से पहले "शुद्ध-शून्य कार्बन उत्सर्जन" बनने का लक्ष्य रखा है।

 राजस्थान की सोजत मेहंदी और असम की जूडिमा राइस वाइन को मिला जीआई टैग

• जूडिमा, असम की घर की बनी चावल की शराब और राजस्थान की सोजत मेहंदी (मेंहदी) को भौगोलिक संकेत (जीआई) टैग से सम्मानित किया गया है। एक विशिष्ट भौगोलिक मूल से जुड़े उत्पादों को जीआई टैग प्रदान किया जाता है। जीआई चिन्ह का पुरस्कार न केवल उत्पादों की उत्पत्ति का पता लगाने में मदद करता है बल्कि स्वदेशी विशिष्टताओं की प्रामाणिकता और विपणन की पुष्टि करने में भी मदद करता है।
• जुडिमा चावल से बना एक स्थानीय किण्वित पेय है, जिसे असम में दीमासा समुदाय द्वारा बनाया जाता है। इसका नाम जू शब्द से लिया गया है जिसका अर्थ है शराब और दीमा का अर्थ है 'दिमासा से संबंधित'। यह पूरे पूर्वोत्तर में जीआई टैग पाने वाला पहला पारंपरिक काढ़ा है।
• सोजत में उगाई जाने वाली मेहंदी की पत्तियों से निकलने वाली सोजत मेहंदी को प्राकृतिक रूप से वर्षा जल का उपयोग करके उगाया जाता है। राजस्थान में पाली जिले की सोजत तहसील में प्राकृतिक रूप से मेहंदी की फसल उगाने के लिए उपयुक्त भूवैज्ञानिक संरचना, स्थलाकृति और जल निकासी व्यवस्था, जलवायु और मिट्टी है।

ओस्ट्रावा ओपन 2021: सानिया मिर्जा और झांग शुआई ने जीता डबल्स खिताब

• भारत की सानिया मिर्जा और उनकी चीनी जोड़ीदार झांग शुआई ने ओस्ट्रावा, चेक गणराज्य में ओस्ट्रावा ओपन में महिला युगल फाइनल में महिला युगल का खिताब जीता। दूसरी वरीयता प्राप्त भारत-चीनी जोड़ी ने अमेरिकी कैटलिन क्रिश्चियन और न्यूजीलैंड की एरिन रॉटलिफ़े की तीसरी वरीयता प्राप्त जोड़ी को एक घंटे चार मिनट में फाइनल मुकाबले में 6-3, 6-2 से हराया।
• पिछले महीने अमेरिका में क्रिस्टीना मैकहेल के साथ डब्ल्यूटीए 250 क्लीवलैंड इवेंट में उपविजेता रहने के बाद, यह सानिया का सीज़न का दूसरा फ़ाइनल था।

लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल गुरबीरपाल सिंह ने एनसीसी के 34वें महानिदेशक के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला

• लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल गुरबीरपाल सिंह ने राष्ट्रीय कैडेट कोर (NCC) के 34वें महानिदेशक के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला है। वह लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल तरुण कुमार आइच का स्थान लेंगे। उन्हें 1987 में पैराशूट रेजिमेंट में कमीशन दिया गया था।
• वे राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी, खडकवासला, भारतीय सैन्य अकादमी, देहरादून के साथ-साथ एनसीसी के पूर्व छात्र है और उन्होंने वेलिंगटन में रक्षा सेवा स्टाफ कॉलेज और नई दिल्ली में राष्ट्रीय रक्षा कॉलेज पाठ्यक्रम में भाग लिया। लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल सिंह नागालैंड और सियाचिन ग्लेशियर में आतंकवाद विरोधी माहौल में कंपनी कमांडर रह चुके हैं।

प्रतिष्ठित आईएईए ऑडिटर हासिल करने के लिए भारत ने जर्मनी, ब्रिटेन, रूस को पछाड़ा

• भारत को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय परमाणु ऊर्जा एजेंसी (IAEA) के लिए बाहरी लेखा परीक्षक के रूप में चुना गया है, जो एक प्रतिष्ठित संस्थान है जो परमाणु ऊर्जा के शांतिपूर्ण उपयोग को बढ़ावा देता है, 2022 से 2027 तक छह वर्ष की अवधि के लिए जर्मनी और यूनाइटेड किंगडम और अन्य देशों को हराकर भारत ने यह जवाबदेही हासिल की है। भारत के नियंत्रक और महालेखा परीक्षक जीसी मुर्मू को IAEA और विदेश मंत्रालय (MEA) के बाहरी लेखा परीक्षक के रूप में चुना गया था।
• इस पद के लिए पहले दौर के मतदान में जर्मनी को 36, भारत को 30, ब्रिटेन को 8, रूस को 11, तुर्की को 9, मिस्र को 20, कोरिया गणराज्य को 2 और फिलीपींस को 7 वोट मिले। दूसरे दौर में भारत और जर्मनी के बीच की दौड़ में भारत ने यूरोपीय देश को हरा दिया।

विश्व हृदय दिवस 2021: 29 सितंबर

• विश्व हृदय दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 29 सितंबर को मनाया जाता है ताकि लोगों का ध्यान हृदय रोग और संबंधित स्वास्थ्य मुद्दों की ओर आकर्षित किया जा सके। प्रतिवर्ष मनाया जाने वाला दिन हृदय रोग और स्ट्रोक सहित कार्डियो-वैस्कुलर रोग (CVD) के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करता है और निवारक और नियंत्रण उपायों पर प्रकाश डालता है। विश्व हृदय संघ द्वारा हृदय रोग और स्ट्रोक सहित कार्डियो-वैस्कुलर रोग के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए यह दिन बनाया गया था।
• इस वर्ष विश्व हृदय दिवस की थीम "यूज हार्ट टू कनेक्ट" है।

खाद्य हानि और अपशिष्ट के बारे में जागरूकता का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस 2021: 29 सितंबर

• खाद्य अपव्यय के मुद्दे को हल करने के वैश्विक प्रयासों को बढ़ावा देने और लागू करने के लिए, 2020 से, 29 सितंबर को खाद्य हानि और अपशिष्ट के बारे में जागरूकता का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस मनाया जाता है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने 29 सितंबर को 2019 में खाद्य हानि और अपशिष्ट के बारे में जागरूकता के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस के रूप में नामित किया।
• 2021 की थीम है : "स्टॉप फूड लॉस एंड वेस्ट. फॉर द पीपल. फॉर द प्लेनेट”। इस दिन का मुख्य उद्देश्य स्थायी भोजन की आदतों के माध्यम से जलवायु परिवर्तन की समस्या को दूर करने की दिशा में काम करने के साथ-साथ जिम्मेदार खपत और उत्पादन के साथ-साथ शून्य भूख की दिशा में कदम उठाना है।

• कुलप्रीत यादव द्वारा लिखित एक नई किताब का शीर्षक "द बैटल ऑफ रेजांग ला" है। एक नई किताब 120 भारतीय सैनिकों की कहानी बताती है जिन्होंने 1962 के भारत-चीन युद्ध में 5,000-मजबूत चीनी सैन्य सैनिकों के खिलाफ एक बहादुर लड़ाई लड़ी, जिससे पूरे लद्दाख क्षेत्र पर एक संभावित कब्जा हो गया।
• पेंगुइन रैंडम हाउस की ''वीर'' छाप के तहत प्रकाशित द बैटल ऑफ रेजांग ला'' पूर्व नौसेना अधिकारी और लेखक कुलप्रीत यादव द्वारा लिखी गई है।

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने WMA सीमा के रूप में 50,000 करोड़ रुपये निर्धारित किए

• भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक ने वित्तीय वर्ष 2021-22 की दूसरी छमाही यानी अक्टूबर 2021 से मार्च 2022 के लिए अर्थोपाय अग्रिम (WMA) की सीमा रु. 50,000 करोड़ निर्धारित कर है।
• जब भारत सरकार डब्लूएमए सीमा के 75 प्रतिशत का उपयोग करती है तो रिज़र्व बैंक बाजार ऋणों के नए प्रवाह को ट्रिगर कर सकता है। रिज़र्व बैंक मौजूदा परिस्थितियों को ध्यान में रखते हुए, भारत सरकार के परामर्श से किसी भी समय सीमा को संशोधित करने का लचीलापन रखता है।

 क्रिप्टोटेक उद्योग 2030 तक आर्थिक मूल्य के $ 184B जोड़ सकता है

• तकनीकी उद्योग के लिए देश के प्रमुख व्यापार निकाय की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, भारत में क्रिप्टो उद्योग में 2030 तक निवेश और लागत बचत के रूप में 184 बिलियन डॉलर की आर्थिक मूल्य जोड़ने की क्षमता है। नेशनल एसोसिएशन ऑफ सॉफ्टवेयर एंड सर्विसेज कंपनीज (National Association of Software and Services Companies - NASSCOM) द्वारा बिनेंस के स्वामित्व वाले क्रिप्टो एक्सचेंज वज़ीरएक्स के संयोजन में "भारत में क्रिप्टो उद्योग " शीर्षक वाली रिपोर्ट प्रकाशित की गई थी।
• "क्रिप्टोटेक" उद्योग - कंपनियां जो व्यापार, भुगतान, प्रेषण, खुदरा और अधिक में शामिल है - 2030 तक भारत में $ 241 मिलियन और 2026 तक वैश्विक स्तर पर $ 2.3 बिलियन तक पहुंचने की उम्मीद है। यह उद्योग वर्तमान में भारत में 50,000 लोगों को रोजगार देता है, एक संख्या जो NASSCOM को दशक के अंत तक बढ़कर 800,000 से अधिक होने की उम्मीद है।

NATIONAL

Chennai's MGR Railway Station gets powered by solar energy

• Dr MG Ramachandran Central (DRM) or Chennai Central railway station will get 100 per cent of energy through Solar Energy. The Chennai Central railway station comes under the South Central Railway (SCR) zone and which is going to become the world’s largest green railway network. The station will now become the first Indian Railways station, which will get 100 per cent day energy through solar panels.
• The solar power capacity of the station is 1.5 MW and Solar panels are installed on the shelters of the station.
• South Central Railways has adopted the concept of ‘energy neutral’ railway stations and become the first Indian Railway zones to do so.
• India has targeted to become “net-zero carbon emission” before the year 2030.

Sojat Mehndi from Rajasthan and Judima rice wine from Assam gets GI tag

• Judima, homemade rice wine from Assam and Sojat Mehndi (Henna) from Rajasthan, has been awarded the geographical indication (GI) tag. A GI tag is awarded to products associated with a specific geographical origin. Award of a GI sign not only helps in tracing the origins of products but also helps in confirming authenticity and marketing of indigenous specialities.
• Judima is a local fermented drink made with rice, brewed by the Dimasa community in Assam. It derives its name from the words Ju which means wine and Dima means ‘belonging to the Dimasa’. It is the first traditional brew in all of the northeast to bag GI tag.
• Sojat Mehendi, originating from Mehendi leaves grown in Sojat, is naturally cultivated using rainwater. Sojat tehsil of the Pali district in Rajasthan has a suitable geological structure, topography and drainage system, climate and soil for naturally cultivating the mehndi leave crop.

Ostrava Open 2021: Sania Mirza & Zhang Shuai Win Doubles Title

• India’s Sania Mirza and her Chinese partner Zhang Shuai won the women’s doubles title in the women’s doubles final at the Ostrava Open in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The second-seeded Indo-Chinese duo defeated the third seeded pair of American Kaitlyn Christian and New Zealander Erin Routliffe 6-3 6-2 in the summit clash in one hour and four minutes.
• This was Sania’s second final of the season, following a runner-up finish at the WTA 250 Cleveland event in the US last month with Chirstina Mchale.

Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh takes charge as 34th Director-General of NCC

• Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh has taken charge as the 34th Director-General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC). He succeeds Lt Gen Tarun Kumar Aich. He was commissioned into the PARACHUTE REGIMENT in 1987.
• An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Indian Military Academy, Dehradun as well as NCC, he attended the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington and the National Defence College Course in New Delhi. Lt Gen Singh has been a Company Commander in the counter-insurgency environment in Nagaland and the Siachen Glacier.

 India beats Germany, UK, Russia to bag prestigious IAEA Auditor

• India has been elected as the external auditor to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a prestigious institution that promotes peaceful use of nuclear energy, for a period of six years from 2022 to 2027 after beating Germany and the United Kingdom among other counties. India’s comptroller and auditor general GC Murmu was selected as the external auditor of IAEA and the ministry of external affairs (MEA).
• In the first round of voting for the post, Germany got 36 votes, India 30, the UK eight, Russia 11, Turkey 9, Egypt 20, Republic of Korea 2 and the Philippines 7 votes. The second round boiled down to the race between India and Germany with India managing to beat the European country.

World Heart Day 2021: 29th September

• World Heart Day is celebrated on 29 September annually to draw people’s attention to heart illness and the range of associated health issues. The day which is celebrated annually creates awareness of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) including heart disease & stroke and highlights the preventive and control measures. The day was created by the World Heart Federation, to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke.
• This year, the theme of World Heart Day is “Use Heart to Connect”.

International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste 2021: 29th September

• International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste is celebrated on September 29, since 2020, to promote and implement global efforts to resolve the issue of food wastage. The United Nations General Assembly designated 29 September as the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste in 2019.
• The theme for 2021 is Stop food loss and waste. For the people. For the planet. The main objective of this day is to take steps towards responsible consumption and production as well as zero hunger, along with working towards addressing the problem of climate change through sustainable food habits.

Book “The Battle of Rezang La” written by Kulpreet Yadav

• A new book has titled “The Battle of Rezang La” written by Kulpreet Yadav. A new book tells the story of 120 Indian soldiers who put up a valiant fight against the 5,000-strong Chinese military troops in the 1962 Indo-China war, preventing a possible occupation of the entire Ladakh region.
• The Battle of Rezang La”, published under Penguin Random House’s ”Veer” imprint, is written by ex-naval officer and author Kulpreet Yadav.

Reserve Bank of India sets Rs 50,000 cr as WMA limit

• The Reserve bank of India has set the limit for Ways and Means Advances (WMA) for the second half of the financial year 2021-22 i.e October 2021 to March 2022 at Rs. 50,000 crore.
• The Reserve Bank may trigger fresh floatation of market loans when the Government of India utilises 75 per cent of the WMA limit. The Reserve Bank retains the flexibility to revise the limit at any time, in consultation with the Government of India, taking into consideration the prevailing circumstances.

 The Cryptotech Industry Could Add $184B Of Economic Value

• The crypto industry in India has the potential to add $184 billion of economic value, in the form of investments and cost savings, by 2030, according to a report from the country’s premier trade body for the tech industry. The report, entitled “Crypto Industry in India,” was published by the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) in conjunction with Binance-owned crypto exchange WazirX.
• The “CryptoTech” industry – companies involved in trading, payments, remittances, retail and more – is expected to reach a size of $241 million in India by 2030, and $2.3 billion globally by 2026. The industry currently employs 50,000 people in India, a number which NASSCOM expects to grow to over 800,000 by the end of the decade.
