फेसबुक ने लॉन्च किया अपना ऑडियो-ओनली कॉलिंग ऐप ‘कैचअप’

• फेसबुक का आंतरिक आरएंडडी समूह, एनपीई (नई उत्पाद प्रयोग) टीम, कैच-अप नामक एक कॉलिंग एप्लिकेशन के साथ आया है।
• इस ऑडियो-ओनली यूनिक ऐप को दोस्तों और परिवार के सदस्यों के साथ कॉल टाइमिंग को समन्वित करने के लिए विकसित किया गया है और यह 8 लोगों के साथ समूह कॉल सेट करने में सक्षम बनाता है। कैचअप ऐप को फिलहाल अमेरिका में टेस्टिंग के उद्देश्य से लॉन्च किया गया है।
• कैचअप सेवा का उपयोग करने के लिए फेसबुक अकाउंट की आवश्यकता नहीं है और ऐप आपके फोन की संपर्क सूची के साथ काम करता है। इस ऐप के माध्यम से, उपयोगकर्ता को यह पता चल जाएगा कि उनकी संपर्क सूची में कौन सभी बात करने के लिए स्वतंत्र हैं, और कौन सा संपर्क ऑफ़लाइन है। 

बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था

इस साल का ग्रोथ रेट -5%, अगले वित्त वर्ष भारतीय इकॉनमी 9.5 फीसदी से विकास करेगी : फिच

फिच रेटिंग्स ने कहा है कि चालू वित्त वर्ष (2020-21) में भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था में पांच फीसदी की गिरावट आएगी। फिच ने कहा कि देश में सख्त नीति लागू की गई है। इससे आर्थिक गतिविधियों में जबर्दस्त गिरावट आई, जिसका सीधा असर सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (जीडीपी) की वृद्धि दर पर पड़ेगा। इससे पहले फिच ने अप्रैल में अनुमान लगाया था कि चालू वित्त वर्ष में भारत की जीडीपी की वृद्धि दर 0.8 फीसदी रहेगी। अब फिच ने अपने इस अनुमान को काफी अधिक घटा दिया है।

रेटिंग एजेंसी ने कहा कि उसने मई के अपने ताजा वैश्विक आर्थिक परिदृश्य (GEO) में वैश्विक जीडीपी के अनुमान में कटौती की है। लेकिन वैश्विक आर्थिक गतिविधियों में गिरावट अब धीरे-धीरे समाप्त हो रही है। फिच ने कहा कि सबसे अधिक कटौती भारत की वृद्धि दर में की गई है। चालू वित्त वर्ष में भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था में पांच फीसदी की भारी गिरावट आएगी। पहले भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था में 0.8 फीसदी की वृद्धि का अनुमान लगाया गया था। 

वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 में भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था में होगी 5 फीसद की कमी: एसएंडपी

भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था चालू वित्त वर्ष में पांच फीसद घट सकती है। यह अनुमान लगाया है एसएंडपी ग्लोबल रेटिंग ने। इससे पहले इस सप्ताह रेटिंग एजेंसी फिच और क्रिसिल ने भी भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था में पांच प्रतिशत संकुचन का अनुमान जताया था। एसएंडपी ने गुरुवार को एक बयान में कहा, ''हमने मार्च 2021 में समाप्त हो रहे वित्त वर्ष के लिए अपने वृद्धि पूर्वानुमान को घटाकर नकारात्मक पांच प्रतिशत कर दिया है। इस समय हमारा मानना है कि (महामारी का) प्रकोप तीसरी तिमाही में चरम पर होगा।

इस वित्त वर्ष में वृद्धि तेजी से संकुचित होगी। आर्थिक गतिविधियां अगले एक साल तक व्यवधान का सामना करेंगी। 

SBI रिसर्च ने भारत के GDP को वित्तीय वर्ष 21 के लिए 6.8% से कम किया-

• एसबीआई रिसर्च ने मौजूदा वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 में भारत के आर्थिक विकास के अनुमान को 6.8 प्रतिशत से घटाकर 4.7 प्रतिशत कर दिया है।
• इसका अर्थ है, एसबीआई रिसर्च रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, वित्त वर्ष 21 में भारत की अनुमानित जीडीपी 6.8 प्रतिशत है।

नासा ने WFIRST हबल टेलीस्कोप का नाम बदलकर खगोल विज्ञानी नैन्सी ग्रेस रोमन रखा

नासा ने अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी की पहली प्रमुख खगोल विज्ञानी नैन्सी ग्रेस रोमन के नाम पर अपनी अगली पीढ़ी के स्पेस टेलीस्कोप - वाइड-फील्ड इन्फ्रारेड सर्वे टेलीस्कोप (WFIRST) का नाम बदल दिया है। नैन्सी ग्रेस रोमन स्पेस टेलीस्कोप या रोमन स्पेस टेलीस्कोप वर्ष 2025 में लॉन्च किया जा सकता है।

नासा की पहली प्रमुख खगोल विज्ञानी नैन्सी ग्रेस रोमन ने व्यापक ब्रह्मांड में खोज करने के लिए अंतरिक्ष दूरबीनों का मार्ग प्रशस्त किया था। उन्हें हबल स्पेस टेलीस्कोप की माता अर्थात जननी के तौर पर भी जाना जाता है, जिसे 30 साल पहले लॉन्च किया गया था।

नासा के प्रशासक जिम ब्रिडेनस्टाइन ने कहा कि यह नैन्सी ग्रेस रोमन के नेतृत्व और दृष्टि के कारण ही संभव हो सका कि नासा एस्ट्रोफिजिक्स (खगोल भौतिकी) में अग्रणी बन गया और दुनिया की सबसे शक्तिशाली अंतरिक्ष दूरबीन हबल को लॉन्च किया। उन्होंने कहा कि वह WFIRST के लिए किसी अन्य बेहतर नाम के बारे में नहीं सोच सकते हैं, जोकि हबल और वेब स्पेस टेलीस्कोप का स्थान लेगा।

पद्म श्री से सम्मानित उर्दू लेखक मुजतबा हुसैन का निधन

प्रसिद्ध उर्दू लेखक, हास्य और व्यंग्यकार मुजतबा हुसैन का निधन हुआ। उनका जन्म 15 जुलाई, 1936 को तेलंगाना के हैदराबाद में हुआ था। हुसैन को उर्दू के मार्क ट्वेन की उपाधि दी गई थी। उन्होंने अपने साहित्यिक जीवन की शुरुआत "सियासत" से की, जो हैदराबाद से प्रकाशित एक प्रमुख उर्दू दैनिक है।

हुसैन को साल 2007 में देश के चौथे सबसे बड़े नागरिक पुरस्कार पद्म श्री से सम्मानित किया गया था। इसके अलावा उनकी "मुजतबा हुसैन जैसा देखा वैसा पाया" और "मुजतबा हुसैन आइनों के बीच" (जो उनकी कला और शैलियों को दर्शाती थी) शीर्षक पुस्तके भी प्रकाशित हुई थी।

आरोग्य सेतु दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा संपर्क ट्रेकिंग ऐप बना

• केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री डॉ हर्षवर्धन ने 27 मई, 2020 को कहा कि भारत का आरोग्यसेतु दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा संपर्क ट्रेकिंग ऐप बन गया है, जो केवल 40 दिनों में 11 करोड़ 40 लाख से अधिक लोगों तक पहुंच गया है।
• मंत्री ने ट्वीट करते हुए कहा कि आवेदन सरकार, उद्योग और नागरिकों के बीच समन्वय का एक उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है। ऐप को हाल ही में एक खुला स्रोत बनाया गया था।
• स्वास्थ्य मंत्री ने कहा कि ओपन सोर्स ऐप का iOS संस्करण अगले दो सप्ताह में जारी किया जाएगा। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि ऐप का इस्तेमाल लगातार बढ़ रहा है और बड़ी संख्या में लोग इससे लाभान्वित हो रहे हैं।

जेके राउलिंग ने अपनी नई पुस्तक "The Ickabog" का ऑनलाइन किया विमोचन

"हैरी पॉटर" लेखक, जेके राउलिंग ने अपनी नई पुस्तक "The Ickabog" को लॉकडाउन के दौरान बच्चों के लिए ऑनलाइन फ्री संस्करण जारी किया है। The Ickabog सत्य और सत्ता के दुरुपयोग की कहानी पर आधारित पुस्तक है।

The Ickabog के पहले दो चैप्टर फ्री उपलब्ध होंगे। इसके अलावा राउलिंग ने इस पुस्तक के प्रकाशित होने के बाद "इस महामारी से सबसे अधिक प्रभावित होने वाले लोगों के लिए" रोयल्टीज से डोनेट करने का भी आग्रह किया हैं।

Facebook Launches its Audio-only Calling App ‘CatchUp’

• The internal R&D group of Facebook, the NPE (New Product Experimentation) Team, has come up with a calling application called Catch-Up.
• This audio-only unique app has been developed to coordinate call timings with friends and family members and enables to set up group calls with up to 8 people. The CatchUp app has currently been launched in the United States for testing purpose.
• CatchUp won’t need a Facebook account to use the service and the app works with your phone’s contacts list. Through this app, user will get to know who all in their contact list are free to talk, and which contact is offline.

Fitch forecasts India’s GDP growth rate to contract 5% in FY21

• American credit rating agency Fitch ratings has drastically projects India’s economic growth forecast to contract 5 percent in the current fiscal year 2020-21 due to a prolonged .
• This means India’s GDP is estimated to be -5% in FY21.Earlier it had predicted the same at 0.8%

S&P forecasts Indian economy to contract 5% in FY21

S&P Global Ratings has slashed India’s GDP growth rate to 5% in the Fiscal Year 2021. The reduction in the growth rates has been made due to slump in the economic activities in the whole country amid  imposed.

SBI Research Downgrades India’s GDP at -6.8% for FY21

• SBI Research has slashed India’s economic growth forecast in the current fiscal year 2020-21 to contract to 6.8 percent from earlier 4.7 percent.
• This means, as per SBI Research Report, India’s GDP is estimated at -6.8% in FY21.

NASA renamed its telescope after ‘Mother of Hubble’ Nancy Grace Roman

• US Space agency NASA has announced to name its next-generation space telescop, the Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST), currently under development, in honor of Nancy Grace Roman, NASA’s first chief astronomer, who paved the way for space telescopes focused on the broader universe.
• The WFIRST Telescope will now be called Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (or Roman Space Telescope, for short). It is set to be launched in the mid-2020s.It will be the successor to NASA’s Hubble and Webb Telescopes.

Padma Shri awardee, Urdu Writer Mujtaba Hussain passes away

• Noted Urdu author, humorist and satirist Mujtaba Hussain passed away. He was born on July 15, 1936, in Hyderabad, Telangana. Hussain was described as the Mark Twain of Urdu.
• He began his literary career from “Siasat”, a leading Urdu daily published from Hyderabad.

AarogyaSetu becomes world's largest contact tracing app

• Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said on May 27, 2020 that India’s AarogyaSetu has become the world's largest contact tracing app, reaching over 11 crore 40 lakh people in just 40 days.
• The Minister tweeted saying that the application is a classic example of coordination between government, industry and citizens. The app was recently made an open source.
• The Health Minister stated that the iOS version of the open source app will be released in the next two weeks. He further added saying that the use of the app is continuously increasing and a large number of people are benefiting from it.

JK Rowling to release her latest book “The Ickabog”

• The “Harry Potter” author, JK Rowling will release her latest book, “The Ickabog”, online for free, for the children during this period. The Ickabog’ is a story about truth and the abuse of power.
• Rowling has pledged to donate all royalties when the book is published to “groups who’ve been particularly impacted.”
